Chapter 7- not everything is how it seems

I slowly walked to Cody’s house, looking around to see if there where any of my friends around to come with me, but I was completely alone. I knocked on the tin tiny door, he lived in a small mobile home…or that’s what it looked like.

“who’s there?” Cody’s deep voice said, through the door.

“umm…I-its me, Emily.” I said in a horse voice.

“I thought I said to stay away from my house! Unless you have another reason then picking daises!” Cody said stepping out of tin house, the door was a bit too small for him, but he somehow got through the door.

“D-delivery.” I said in another horse voice. Cody looked at me as if I was a mummy, which I would rather be buried by my servants forever, then be stuck in front of a creepy man, with a stair that looks like he wants to shut his tin door on me.

“good…bring it in here!” he said leading me into his house, or should I say the place where I’m going to die! I dragged the heavy bag into the small house, then I heard a small scream, coming from the closet I was standing next to!

“what was that?” I asked Cody as he dug through his closet on the other end of his house.

“something, that needs to be fixed…for good.” I heard Cody say as a metal object hit the ground. It was a hammer, the last tool I would get to see before I kicked the bucket. Then Cody started to come towards me with a wrench in his hand.

“huh… Cody what are you going to use that for?” I asked holding the bag closer and closer to me, I closed my eyes trying to pitcher all my friends, I’ve met this week. Then I felt my hands open, I opened one of my eyes, there was Cody going in the closet where I heard the screams.

“This” Cody said as he opened the door and there- was pipes. “these pipes, they have been making noises for weeks, and I just asked takakura for more pipes,” Cody said as he took a pipe from the bag and fixed the broken pipe as it screamed, like a little girl.

“so, if you don’t trap people in your house, what’s that red stuff dripping from your cabinet?” I ask pointing to the red drips falling onto the blue carpet.

“oh shoot!” Cody said, and for the first time, I saw him run. He opened up the cabinet and I saw what I never thought Id see, red paint, and next to the red paint bottle- that was almost all empty- was green, blue, yellow, orange, and purple paint.

After Cody cleaned up the paint, he explained everything to me. He is not a spy, but a guy who is prepared for anything. He’s handy, a painter, and his best friend is takakura, so he knows whenever someone is coming, and when he was watching me come on to the island, he wasn’t looking at me, he was looking at the ocean, and the waves, for his next painting.

“so your not a killer?” I asked when Cody was done telling his side of his story.

“no, what made you thin- Ohh it was the kids, Hugh and Lumina?” Cody asked “every time I walk up too them, they run away, like I’m a big walking building.”

“I can help you, with that.”

After I left Cody’s house, I found Hugh and Lumina playing catch in front of the blue bar. As soon as Lumina saw me she dropped the ball, and ran over to me.

“oh, my, gosh, what happened? Did Cody brain wash you? Do you remember who I am?” Lumina yelled not taking a breath, she started looking purple.

“calm down, I’m just fine” I said after Lumina turned back to her normal skin color.

“I want to hear those answers!” Hugh yelled standing on the fences to reach my ear.
