Chapter 12-the sleepover

After takakura showed me how to feed the chick, and she feel asleep. Takakura told me to buy some chicken feed and to name the baby chick. I did as I was told, and named the chick trouble, yes just like marlin said I should. 

I was just about to head in to make dinner when Hugh came running on my farm.

“hide me!” he yelled as he ran behind the barn.

“Hugh! Come back here!” Wally yelled as he ran to me. “where’s Hugh?” he asked.

“umm…  why?” I asked, it was non of my business, but my family is part snoopy.

“Chris, Hugh, and myself are going to the city for the day. Hugh doesn’t want to go. He cant stay home alone, and this important. I cant miss it.” Wally said, while saying this, I saw Hugh peek out from behind my barn, I also saw Sammie look over Hugh’s shoulder and lick his cheek, along with a quiet “moo!”.

“just to help you and Chris out, I’ll watch Hugh.” I said, I didn’t want to make Hugh suffer by going to a place, he didn’t want to.

“really?” Wally asked. We made an agreement, that I would watch Hugh for the day. Wally gave me Hugh’s suit case and their phone number, just in case. After Wally left, Hugh came out of hiding.

“wow, thanks for saving my Saturday.” Hugh said, he came out from behind my barn.

“your welcome. Come on, lets bring your suit case inside.” I said as I picked up the suit case. After I brought Hugh’s suit case in, I put storm and Sammie in the barn, put out Hugh’s sleeping bag by my T.V, I cooked dinner for the two of us.

An hour later, the was a knock at my door. Hugh looked up from his macaroni and cheese. I opened the door, skip waddled in the room, with a leash in his mouth. Attached to the leash was rock.

“hello rock.” I said, as I watched rock being pulled on the leash by my dog. The metal thing was attached around his arm. “what happened?” I asked.

“I happened!” Lumina said, as she came through my door. “I heard, you were having a sleep over, so I decided to come!” Lumina said, as if I invited her and rock.

“she came over to my house, put a on me, and dragged me here. Skip took the leash from Lumina, and next thing I know, I’m being pulled inside by a dog!” rock said, un-buckling the leash from his arm.

“bark!” skip barked, to prove it was true. He dropped the lash and jumped on my bed.

After Lumina, Hugh, and rock finished their macaroni and cheese, we talked about what we wanted to do when we grow up, the kids mostly talked about this part.

“I want to be a athlete, and beat my dad in a foot race.” Hugh said. He sat on the sleeping bag, I laid out for him.

“I want to be a really good piano player.” Lumina said. She laid on the rug, I had on the ground.

“I guess I’m doing what I love now.” I said, as I rolled on my side, to face my friend. We all looked at rock, who didn’t say anything about what he wanted to be.

“rock?” Hugh asked, after seconds silences.

“yes Hugh?” rock replied.

“what do you want to be, when you grow up?” Hugh asked.

“I am grown up. But I guess…” rock didn’t finish. He seemed to stop, like he didn’t want to answer this question.

“what?” Lumina asked.
