Chapter 11-monters can be nice too

“why are we going to the woods?” Lumina asked as we entered the forest.

“isn’t there a monster in the woods?” Hugh asked.

“yes, but the monsters nice, he saved my life.” rock said, then he stopped the 4 of us, “And for this day forth, you will now call him… umm…” rock said think of a name for the monster. “… oh I got it! Freddy!”

“bob!” Hugh yelled.

“hairy!” Lumina yelled back.

“bark!” skip barked an idea too.

“what’s wrong, with Obake?” I asked.

“what languish is it in?” Hugh asked

“is it when you, over bake something?” rock asked

“what dose that mean?” Lumina asked.

“it Japanese, no, and it means nice monster.” I said back to the three children that questioned the name.

“Obake’s a good name, the monster is now renamed to Obake!” rock said normally.

“Do you think we’ll see Obake?” Lumina asked as we walked deeper into the woods, it wasn’t so scary anymore.

“there’s a good chance.” I said holding onto skip’s red leash, ruby gave me.

“hey, skip, Lumina, Rock! Want to race?” Hugh asked.

“no why! You get running training from your dad!” Rock said.

“suit your self! So, Lumina? Skip? You in?” Hugh asked.

“you bet!” Lumina yelled. Skip looked at me with a sad puppy face.

“fine, skips in!” I said as I un-hooked skip from his leash. As soon as he was free, Hugh started,

“read, set… go!” Hugh screamed, and Lumina, Skip, and Hugh raced off. Hugh and skip were neck and neck, Lumina was right behind the two boys. Rock and me walked slowly behind.

“so…about what happened, at your house…” rock started.

“rock. I know, it wasn’t anything. Can we just leave it at that? I’ll feel better, knowing that what ever happened in there, we’ll still stay friends. What ever will happen after today, we’ll still stay friends. Nothing will change. Even if you move far away, and get married, we’ll still be friends. Ok?” I said, dragging the leash behind me.

“no…” rock said. “…we’ll stay best friends.” rock put his arm around my neck, and we walked, deeper into the woods. I just now noticed rock was a couple inches taller then me.

We stopped talking, when we heard: “I win! I win” Lumina screamed, while jumping up and down. Hugh was huffing and puffing. Skip lay on the ground, like a dead dog, but with his but in the air, and his head in the dirt.

“I-its… no… fair, I… want…a… rematch!” Hugh said, taking deep breaths.

“bark… bark… bark… bark!” skip said, muffled by the dirt. Rock and I stated to laugh. Lumina jumped for a couple more seconds, then turned around, she had a puzzled look on her face. She faced the forest.

“hello?” she called, skip and Hugh looked up from the ground. Lumina took a step in the woods, me and rock started to run over to the two kids and dog.

“Lumina, wait for us!” rock called, but Lumina took a few more steps into the woods. She didn’t hear rock.

“what the?” Lumina mumbled. She took another step. Hugh stood up straight and tall, and walked over to see what Lumina was looking at. Skip did the same thing.
