Chapter 10-a kiss to remeber

At about 3:30am I woke up, to a knock at my door. I got up, followed by skip, and opened the door.

“morning!” rock said in a high and pitchy voice.

“what happen to a farmer needs their rest?” I asked rock, with my eyes half closed,

“oh, will… umm… I though you told me a farmer needs to take care of animals, no matter what time of day it is.”

“I never said that”

“oh, you didn’t? will… umm… a farmer needs to take care of animals, no matter what.” rock said, closing his eyes, as if he was giving a speech. “and now if you are a-” rock would have finished, but I cut him off.

“ok, ok I get it, come on.” I said as I started walking “First we have to put fodder in  Sammie’s and storm’s food box, then we have to water the plants, fill skips food bowl with dog food, milk Sammie, bring the milk to the shipping room, brush storm and Sammie, and then take skip for a walk.” counting everything I said with my fingers.

“wow, you have to do that everyday?” rock asked

“yes, and no, I didn’t walk skip yesterday.”

“oh yeah, that’s a huge difference.”

“yup.”

“ok, umm… where’s the fodder?” rock asked as we climbed into my pasture.

“in the barn, be quite, storm and Sammie are still asleep.” I said, as I opened the big barn doors, and right away, I felt a wet tongue, lick me right it the face. I opened my eyes to see Sammie greet me with a moo.

“still asleep huh?” rock asked.

“last I checked, you were suppose to be asleep, at… 3 in the morning!” I said scratching her behind her ear.

“mooo!” Sammie said to me, then she noticed rock standing next to me, she greeted him with a wet lick and a “mooo!” Sammie pushed rock to the ground, when the lick came along, then the “mooo!”

“I guess now you can say you had your first kiss!” I said with a laugh. I helped rock up to his feet.

“ok that’s both, mean, and so true!” rock said. “well, I bet it woke you up.” Rock laughed.

“oh, you have no idea.” I said, scratching the back of my head. “ok lets get to work.” I said as I walked Sammie over to her food box. After we did everything else, we decided to start making lunch. We made peanut butter and jelly sand which’s. rock had made the peanut butter side, I made the jelly. I took the knife away from him, when I saw him lick the peanut butter off the knife.

“I guess I shouldn’t make a farmer mad, when she has a tools.” rock said, with a laugh, taking his finger full of peanut butter.

“you got that right.” I said, taking the jar away from him, right before, I took a spoon full of peanut butter. I brought the plate of the 2 sandwiches to the table. We sat down, and ate our sticky meal.

“so what’s next, on your long list of chorus?” rock asked, wiping his jelly fingers and jelly lips on the napkin.

“just walking skip.” I said, reaching for the red leash ruby had given me.

We started to walk towards the door, when I tripped on my own feet, and stumbled over rock. Rock landed on my hard wooden floor, with me on top of him.

“sorry.” I said. Then rock kissed me. But for some reason, I didn’t stop him. When he stopped, I saw him blush.

“sorry.” he murmured.

“its- ok. I-I mean… we should walk skip now.” I said. I was stuttering. Trying to change the subject. I stood up, and hooked skips leash on him. 

“yeah, t-that sounds like a good idea.” rock said. Rock got up and ran to the front door to open it. There in the door way, was the 2 kids that have annoyed us forever. For once, I was glad to see them in my doorway.

“hey guys. we just came from art class, Cody gave us” Lumina said.

“ and now, we’re bored, and we wanted to see if Emily wanted to hang out.” Hugh said.

“what are you doing here rock?” Lumina asked.

“just helping Emily with her daily chorus.” rock said, as Lumina and Hugh welcomed themselves into my home.

“ok first of all, I run a farm, so what makes you think I’m free? And second, I’m not sure I want you guys in my house, after last night” I said. We explained what happened the night before, when the kids snuck into my house, and tried to de-brain wash me.

“its not our fault.” hugh said. 

“and anyway. Were taking skip for a walk.” I said, walking my dog to the door. Rock followed me.

“can we come?” Lumina asked.

“sure” me and rock said at the same time. 

 We all took skip for a walk, to the woods.
