Days and weeks passed since their sad conversation with Hagrid. It was still quite cold out, but it was a comforting cold. The one that you drink hot chocolate in even though you could wear a short sleeved shirt.
Autumn, Hermione, Ron, and Harry walked around the courtyard only to find a man with a giant execution axe.
"Oh—" Autumn covered her mouth with her hands. "It's today, isn't it?"
Ron nodded softly, looking quite scared himself. Crows and ravens cawed constantly, making the day seem that much drearier.
"Maybe we should go see Hagrid and see how he's doing?" Autumn suggested.
"Yeah, maybe we should," Harry said.
The four walked to Hagrid's house in a hurry.
"I still can't believe they're going to kill Buckbeak," Hermione said in a small fury.
"Neither can I. It's terrible! He hasn't even done anything—" Autumn stopped talking when the four saw Malfoy and his 'gang' of pubescent boys. They hid behind a large stone, waiting to watch the execution of the bird.
Hermione ran down towards the three and Autumn followed.
"Ah, come to see the show!" Malfoy said.
"You! You foul, loathsome, evil little cockroach!" Hermione drew back her wand and pointed it straight at Draco.
"Hermione, no! He's not worth it." Ron said
Hermione slowly lowered her wand from Malfoy.
"If she's not going to curse him, then I will!" Autumn grabbed her wand and pointed it directly at Draco.
"No — Autumn!" Harry grabbed a hold of Autumn's wand before she could do anything.
"Don't you dare call this a show!" Autumn swung her hand back and slapped Malfoy across the face. "Say anything like that again, and I'll be sure to actually try to slap you next time."
When Autumn walked away from Draco, she heard snickering. Autumn went to turn around to slap him again, but Hermione punched Draco in the face.
Autumn widened her eyes in shock as Crabbe and Goyle ran to Malfoy.
"Malfoy! Are you okay?"
The three ran off, muttering and yelling to themselves.
Autumn, Harry, and Ron looked over to Hermione.
"Nice job, Hermione!" Autumn smirked.
"That felt good." Hermione grinned.
"Not good, brilliant!" Ron exclaimed. "And Autumn! You -- with the—"
Autumn smirked even more. "It might've been worse if someone hadn't taken my wand away." Autumn beamed, holding her hand out for her wand.
Harry put Autumn's wand back in her hand.
"Thank you very much."
Then the four ran down the steps until they reached Hagrid's hut.
"Look at him. Loves the smell of the trees when the wind blows through them."
"Why don't you set him free?"
They'd know it was me, and then Dumbledore would get into trouble. He's coming down, DUmbledore. Says he wants to be with me when they. . . when it happens. Great man Dumbledore, Great man."
"We'll stay with you too, Hagrid.
"You'll do no such thing! Think I want you seeing something like that? No. You just drink your tea and be off." Hagrid paused. "Oh. Before you do, Ron," Hagrid walked to a table in what seemed to be the kitchen and opened a container. Hagrid seemed to be carrying a rat.
