The door that they used to get into the room was now closed and Sirius Black was behind it.
"If you want to kill Harry or Autumn, you'll have to go through me first." Hermione said, walking in front of Autumn and Harry.
"No," said Sirius in a calm voice. "Only one shall die tonight."
"Only one?" Autumn questioned, slowly getting her wand out. "But I thought you wanted to kill both me and Harry?"
Sirius Black stared at Autumn. But he didn't look angry; he looked sad and heartbroken.
"If only one dies tonight, then it'll be you!" Harry jumped from Hermione and Autumn's grip and brought Sirius Black to the ground. Harry pointed his wand at Sirius Black's head.
But Sirius only chuckled. "Are you going to kill me, Harry?" Sirius continued chuckling.
Harry breathed heavily, his wand at the ready. Then the door swung open and someone said, "Expelliarmus!" It was Lupin.
Harry's wand flew towards the door, away from Harry. Lupin nudged his head, signalling Harry to leave. Autumn quickly grabbed ahold of Harry and brought him closer to her and away from Sirius.
"Well, well, Sirius." Lupin said, pointing his wand at Sirius, who was still on the floor. "Looking rather ragged, are we? Finally the flesh reflects the madness within."
"Well, you'll know all about the madness within, wouldn't you, Remus?" Sirius responded, not even skipping a beat.
Lupin dropped his wand, grinned, then helped Sirius stand. Then the two hugged and murmured some things that Autumn couldn't hear.
"NO!" Hermione screamed, walking forward. "You. . . I trusted you! And all this time, you've been his friend?!"
"He's a werewolf!" Autumn shouted, remembering the potion that Snape made him. "It's why he's been missing classes."
Lupin walked steadily toward Autumn. "How long have you known?"
"I thought about it since Snape made you that potion. I only figured it out when Snape took over class and taught us about Werewolves."
"Well, well, well, Hermione. You really are the brightest witch of your age I've ever met."
"Enough talk, Remus!" Sirius howled. "Come on, let's kill him!"
Autumn's eyes widened. Him. He meant Harry; not Autumn. Instead of what she thought would be a wave of relief, she felt even worse. He was going to kill Harry.
"Wait—" Lupin said.
"I DID MY WAITING! TWELVE YEARS OF IT. IN AZKABAN!"
Lupin looked directly at Harry, then back to Sirius. He handed his wand to Sirius. "Very well, kill him. But wait one more minute -- Harry has the right to know why."
"I know why." Harry's voice wavered. "You betrayed my parents. You're the reason they're dead."
Autumn grabbed her wand and held it by her side, slowly walking up to Harry and grabbing his hand.
"No, Harry. It wasn't him!" Lupin interrupted. "Somebody did betray your parents but it was somebody until quite recently, I believed to be dead."
"So who was it then!?" Harry shouted.
"Peter Pettigrew!" Sirius yelled. "And he's in this room! Right now! Come out, come out, Peter. Come out and play!"
Autumn grabbed her wand and pointed it at Sirius, walking forward. But right as she did that, Snape ran into the room.
