"Everyone says they've got it under control. Julieta and Daniel will be in at 6am tomorrow to finish setting up. What else?"
A hand slamming down on the table made me jump.
"You go, Chuck. I think that's all we have to do for now. I'll put together the schedule when I get back to the hotel tonight and we can hand them out tomorrow."
Wes received a steady glare from me after slamming his hand.
"First, you scared me, don't even slap the table again. Second, this got handled so much quicker than I thought! Speaking of hotels..." I paused, dodging a suspicious look from Wes. "I was thinking, maybe Hart and I could move into the hotel the group is staying in. Unless there was a specific reason you put us where we are now. If so, I'll drop it and won't ask again."
A smirk revealed itself on his face. "There wouldn't be a specific person influencing your desire to move over there, would it?"
My hands covered my face. "I knew this was coming."
Wes laughed loudly. "Hell yeah, it was coming. Especially since we didn't have a chance to talk about what I saw at lunch today! I also assume nothing bad happened to them Saturday night, since I never heard from you. You got some 'splaining to do missy. Start talking."
I blew out an exasperated sigh and started spilling the weekend's events. "No, it was a fucking Nerf gun war. We walked in, it was pitch black. Hartley got pulled into a room, and I got pulled into another room. They somehow mixed us up, considering it was too dark to see, so I was on Thomas' team instead of Dylan's. Dylan and I have gotten.... Really close since that first night we all hung out. He found me in the stairwell and.... Kissed... me." The heat was rising in my face so I knew I had to be blushing.
When Wes didn't say anything, I assumed he intended for me to continue my story.
"We kissed again when the game was over, and before I went back to my hotel. And Sunday, we were kind of... cuddly I guess. I was a little surprised he kissed me in front of everyone today, but I guess the majority of our table saw it yesterday so who knows. But we are in their hotel every night. Dylan mentioned it might would just be easier if we stayed there. That way when we get tired, we just walk down the hall instead of going to our own hotel 30 minutes away."
Wes tried to stifle a laugh and failed. "I'm not surprised he kissed you in front of everyone. He talks about you ALL THE TIME. Just like Thomas talks about Hartley all the time. Those guys are crazy about you two."
My mouth fell open. I gotta tell Hartley. "They've known us a week! They can't be crazy about us." I shook my head. "Is it bad? I'm helping you direct. I'm just an intern. I'm probably not supposed to date the actors. Isn't there some kind of rule about that?"
He scooted up in his chair, reaching across the table to grab my hand.
"You and Hartley are breathtaking. When I first met you, I was blown away. I thought 'why is this gorgeous female coming to talk to me?' There is something about you two. I've seen it before and I'm seeing it now. It's like people are automatically drawn to you. Braxton flirts his ass off every day with Hartley, even though she either doesn't notice or doesn't care. And Axel. You said hey to him and I could see his mind just shut down. It would take minutes to become crazy for you two, so yes they can be after just a week."
"You're making me blush, Wesley Ball."
He smiled and leaned back in his chair. "It's the truth, and you know it. I put you two in the hotel because no one outside of their group has ever stayed in a hotel with them. I didn't want to throw ya'll in there and for some reason, not get along. I didn't think it would happen, because those guys get along with everyone. But I couldn't take any chances. And no... There's no rule against crew and cast dating. It doesn't make you look bad. Now if you go off to other movies and make it a habit, I might have to change my opinion." He paused to stick his tongue out at me. "But no, I think you guys will be great together. Stick it out one more night. I'll call the hotels and move your reservations. Do you want a car too?"
I shot him a dirty look. "I'm sorry, sir, am I asking for too much?"
Wes laughed and shook his head. "Not at all, I'm asking seriously. Between the group, they have two cars. I meant to ask you when you first got down here, but I forgot."
"Oh... whoops. Sure! We'll take a car. Though I'll admit, I'm going to miss Mike. I've become quite fond of him the last week."
Wes looked down at his watch and reached for his wallet to pay for our dinner.
"I'm sure you'll see him again. It's 9:00. I reckon I should let you get back to everyone."
We walked outside where Mike was waiting for me. Wes surprised me with a hug just before I reached the car.
"Dylan really likes you. Don't worry about it so much. If you like him back, then go for it. As long as you do your job and are happy, then I'm happy."
I squeezed tight before breaking the embrace. "I'm definitely going to work my ass off and prove to you I can do this."
I slid into the backseat and Wes ducked down. He said one last thing before shutting the door. "You've already proved it to me."
