The phone was between my shoulder and ear as I was filing my nails. I was cross legged up on the kitchen counter trying to get ahold of Mr. Carroll. Rashomon wrapped gently around my waist as I finally got ahold of someone.

"Who is this?" A frail voice demanded.

"It's Kingsley. Is this Mr. Carroll?"

"Kingsley? Aliceina? Is that really you? I've seen you all across the national news. Are you okay? Are those Mafia men holding you hostage or abusing you?" Mr. Carroll spouted off all his questions.

Grabbing my phone, I leaned back against Akutagawa's chest. "Abusing me? No, no, it's nothing like that. Listen Lewis, I received an invitation from a fellow that goes by the name of Jay. You know a bloke by that name?"

"Jay, Jay, Jay..." Mr. Carroll trailed. "Oh of course. Yes he worked closely with your father. I think he's just having a company gathering. I haven't the chance to go seeing it's in Japan. Have fun, dear."

"I will. Bye, Lewis."

"Cheers, Aliceina." Mr. Carroll hung up on me.

With my head still against his chest, I looked up at Akutagawa. "What's up?"

"You've been on that damn phone all night." He grumbled.

"Is that your way of asking me to accompany you to bed?"

"Ali..." He trailed tiredly. "Come on, you're not even dressed for bed. Aren't you tired in the slightest?"

"Nope!" I sent him a closed eye smile. "But, I think you are." My finger was almost close enough to poke his cheek. Unfortunately for me, Akutagawa grabbed it. He mumbled something while lifting me up bridal style and bringing me into the bedroom. I didn't bother asking what. Akutagawa draped a strong arm around me, keeping me in place.

"Goodnight, Kitten."

I chuckled, "Goodnight, Aku."

The morning of the nineteenth was upon us. When the sun hit my face, my eyes slowly opened to adjust to the sudden brightness. The smell of freshly brewed tea filled my senses. Groggily, I made my way down the stairs and hugged my boyfriend from behind.

"Good morning." I mumbled into his back.

"We have company..." He trailed.

I groaned and let go of him. Turning, I noticed a hat on the table. Then, I saw a familiar blonde bun next to a mess of orange hair.

"It's my day off, why are you people here?" I whined while making my clothes not look like I just slept in them.

"You're really not a morning person, huh?" Chuuya teased while I was fixing my hair.

Akutagawa left a tea cup on the table in front of me and sat down. I sat down as well, "Shut up, nii-san. So, what pleasure do I have of having you two here this morning. We had plans you know."

"No we didn't." Akutagawa looked over at me.

"I was going to tell you when I woke up." I sighed, "Just what's going on? We're suspended."

"It's about Jamison." Higuchi spoke up. "I did some research on him per Akutagawa's request." She placed a file on the table. "Everything on him is good, but it's just how little there was on him that was startling."

"Long story short, we're accompanying you two tomorrow evening." Chuuya stood. "I also did some of my own research on your father's company, Aliceina. It makes sense why Fitz was after you, your Royal Highness." He whispered the last part to me as he walked past.

"Shut up, Chuuya." I let out a low warning growl.

"Nonetheless, your father's operation was quite the elaborate set up. He could have worked for us." Chuuya stated before showing himself out. "See you tomorrow."

"Wait, Nii-san!" I chased after him. My hand latched onto his shoulder in the hallway outside of the apartment. "Chuuya, who knows?"

"Just Mori and Kouyou. Maybe some others that Mori felt needed to know." Chuuya shrugged. "Now I know why you've always been a royal pain in my ass." Chuuya chuckled.

"Please, don't." I hung my hand. There was a small lump rapidly growing in my throat. "You must know that I ruined a lot of things for my mother. Being a love child between the head of a smuggling ring and a queen. She never loved me, only my dad." I could feel blood on my fingertips as I clenched my fists a little too tight. "I was a complication. The result of lust between two lovers. I'm not royalty and I never will be. I'm merely a smuggler's daughter turned gang member turned Mafia member, nothing more, nothing less." I felt two hands on my shoulders.

"Hey." Chuuya's voice was gentle, encouraging me to look up. "Don't get all emotional on me. That's not very like you. Higuchi and I will meet you guys here for the party, okay?"

I nodded.

"Good." He wiped my tears away. "Enjoy your day off, Ali." Kissing my forehead, Chuuya turned and left.

As Chuuya and I were talking Akutagawa and Higuchi were going over what little she found on the man named Jamison. I got back into the apartment as they were finishing up.

"Ready to go shopping, Akutagawa?" I kinda leaned on him as he was sitting. "Thanks for your help, Higuchi. We'll see you tomorrow." I smiled politely, dismissing her.

Higuchi nodded and stood, "Bye, Senpai. Goodbye, Aliceina."

"So, shopping?" Akutagawa raised his brow at me before taking another sip of tea.

"Of course!" I stood behind him and rested my arms over his shoulders and my hands on his chest. "I need a new dress for tomorrow night."

"Couldn't you just make a dress you already have look like one you want?"

I scoffed, "That's not the point. We can go to the shopping district that the Mafia knows well and you could help me get in and out of the dresses." I kissed his red cheek.
