Chapter 7

Sharlene POV

Today is a nightmare.

Nagpunta ako sa headquarters ng MYX sa Quezon City para bumisita. Kung alam ko lang na magkukrus nanaman pala ang landas namin ni Donny ay sana sa ibang araw nalang ako bumisita.

When I talked to my beshie earlier, nagpaalam siya sa'kin na hindi daw muna siya uuwi sa condo mamaya dahil may family outing daw sila. 2 weeks ago ay nabanggit niya sa'kin ang tungkol dun at excited na excited pa nga siya kung kaya naman hindi ko nalang binanggit ang nangyayari sa'kin ngayong araw na 'to. Baka mamroblema pa 'yun sa'kin imbis na mag-enjoy sa family outing nila.

After that phone conversation with Miles, I received a text message from Hannah. She was asking me if I'm not busy at the moment because she would like to have lunch with me. Because I want to get away from Donny as much as possible, I said yes to his sister.

Why?

Don't get me wrong, Hannah and I are friends. Whatever happened between me and her brother, she's cool with it. She's not the type na aawayin ako kasi hindi naging kami ng kapatid niya o 'di kaya ay hindi nalang ako kakausapin bigla dahil hindi narin kami nag-uusap ng kapatid niya. No. Hannah is not like that. Despite everything that happened, we remained friends.

"Kuya is so tanga." Hannah said and rolled her eyes while driving. "She did that to you earlier?? Wait until Ate Ella hears about this."

I sighed. "Hayaan mo na. Wag mo nalang din isumbong kay Ate Ella. Baka mapagsabihan pa 'yun at sisihin pa ako dahil nagsumbong ako sa'yo."

"Dapat lang yun sa kanya noh!" Mariing sabi ni Hannah. "Look, I'm going to be honest with you Shar. I feel so embarrassed for what Kuya did to you. I mean he left you hanging just because takot siya. I mean come on! Be man enough, dude! And I'm really sorry for what happened and for what he did earlier. It's just that... you know... this is the first time he really fell for someone. Unfortunately, that someone already has 'someone' in her heart for a very long time already." She looked at me and half smiled.

"We're on a fight." I said.

"Is it because of Kuya?"

Tumango lang ako bilang sagot. Hannah sighed and patted my shoulder. "I'm really sorry, Shar."

I admire Hannah for her efforts. She tried to cheer me up all afternoon and she even said sorry on behalf of her brother. Even though she didn't have to.

Here's where the nightmare started.

Around 7 in the evening, we were currently eating dinner at Subway when she received a phone call from her Ate Ella.

"Oh I can't Ate. I'm with Sharlene at the moment." I heard Hannah telling this to her sister. "What?? No! Ang layo!"

I checked my phone hoping for a miracle that Nash cooled down already and might send me a message or even call. But there was none. I put back my phone in my purse.

"Hey Shar..." I looked up at Hannah. She's done talking to her Ate Ella. "C-can you do me a favor?"

Nagdalawang isip ako. Kaya ko bang tanggihan si Hannah after what she did for me today? She paid for everything that we ate and did kahit na nag-insist naman ako na ako na ang magbabayad. How can I say no?

"Sure. What is it?"

I ended up going to a bar here in Taguig with Hannah. Her Ate Ella called her because the Pangilinans are having a get together. Their cousins from the States just got home two days ago and they want to party tonight. If I had known that this was coming, I should've said no to Hannah.
