Lauren's POV

When I get home my boyfriend, Aaron, is waiting for me. As I walk in the door he wraps his arms around me.
"I'm so sorry Lauren" he whispers as he continues to hug me. I don't respond but I hug him tighter. I'm glad I'm not alone now. A wave of sadness hits me in his arms and I start to sob into his shoulder. He just hugs me tighter as my legs give out under me and he's holding me up.

We go up to my room and he sits on the corner of my bed. We're quiet for a while until he finally breaks the silence.

"What happened?"

"I can't remember. The police want to have us in for a.... drug test on Monday to see if that's the cause of the memory loss." I reply, choking up.

"Shit. I'm so sorry Laur, are you ok?" He says.

"Not really. I don't really want to talk about it. Can we just watch a movie or something?" I say, feeling like a thousand pounds are on my shoulders.

"Of course." He smiles and I cuddle close to him on the bed. We've been together for 3 months but his touch still makes my skin feel on fire, in a good way. "I love you" he says.
"I love you too" I say back before I fall asleep in his arms.

I wake up to find Aaron has also fell asleep beside me. For a moment I forget about Meghan and I look up at him and smile. I am truly in love. His black hair falls across his face in a short fringe and even asleep he looks like a model. his smile could light up a room in seconds, that's one of the reasons I fell in love with him. He's gentle and caring and sweet.

My thoughts drift back to the cabin and I shiver. My best friend is dead.

I feel like crying but for some reason I can't. I'm overwhelmed, I guess.

If anyone could make me feel better at a time like this, it's Aaron. I fall asleep again with my head resting in his chest.

**later**

Aaron left a few hours after I fell asleep. I calmed down when he was there but when he left I felt so alone. How can my best friend just be gone so fast? I will never get to hear her laugh when I tell a joke, see her smile when I tell her about "cute boys", or even hear her voice talking to me at one of our many sleepovers. The reality hits me and it feels like my chest is on fire. I sob so hard I feel like I can't breath. I'm shaking so violently I feel like I'm going to pass out.

I grab a pillow off of my bed and scream until my voice is raw.

I will find out who has done this to my best friend.
