Lauren's POV

After the incident at the cabin, I'm hesitant to go to the police about what I saw. I wish I hadn't dropped the note, but I was so scared my instincts to flee kicked in. This killer could be anyone, they could be anywhere and strike at any time. I've already lost my best friend and I'm not going to lose another. I need to warn Sarah.

I have to find a way to tell someone about what happened without the mysterious killer finding out. If he/she finds out I told someone, the results could be deadly. If I continue to search, I could end up dead. If I do nothing, the killer could come back. I shiver as I think about the situation.

After a while, I decide to tell Sarah what happened. Maybe she'll know what to do.

I dial her number but she doesn't answer. Maybe her phone is dead, I think to myself. I shake my head. I don't want to deal with this now.

I walk over to my bathroom and brush my teeth. Before crawling into bed, I remember the pill the doctor gave me. I follow the instructions on the bottle and take the pills. My bed feels like a nest I can hide in from all the shit going on. Laying in bed alone with my thoughts, I start to cry again. This is all too much.

I'm so sorry Meghan, I think to myself.

My body finally decides I've suffered enough for one day and I slowly drift off to sleep.

Dream

"Dare!" Megan exclaims, taking another sip of her beer.

"I dare you to run out into the woods all the way to the tree we carved our names in when we were little!" I say deviously.

"No way! That's so far in the woods and it's dark out! Are you crazy?" Meg says laughing.

"Come on... don't be a CHICKEN!!" Sarah teases. "Bak bak!"

"Fine! I'll do it." Meg say defeatedly. We cheer. She takes one more sip of her beer and slowly makes her way to the door. "If I don't come back, tell my family I love them." She jokes.

"Stop stalling!" Sarah says, forcing meg out the door.

"Alright alright I'm going!" She says, walking out the door.

We watch her as she slowly disappears into the woods. Not even two minutes of wobbly making her way towards the tree, we see Megan running back to us with a terrified look on her face. She's panting furiously when she finally approaches us.

"Meg! What's wrong? Did something happen???" I ask as she falls into our arms.

"I w-was walking and I s-saw a silhouette of a m-man watching me." She says between pants. "I thought I was just really drunk so I kept walking but then he got closer and..... I ran. I think he h-had a weapon!"

"I'm sure it was just your drunk imagination. There's no one here!" I assured her. "Come on. It's your turn!" We walk back inside and shut the door, not locking it behind us.

I jot awake. Was that just a dream? Or was that a memory from that night? Oh god, what if that was the person who killed her?

No. I'm sure It's just my imagination playing tricks on me.

I need to talk to Sarah and Dr. Wilson, without the killer finding out.

This should be interesting.
