Chapter 12: Ash's love for Serena

Ash

As we waited for Serena to perform, Brock sees me as he never seen a side of me before. He turns from the audience to me. 

"Ash, can I ask you a question?" Brock asks me. I stare at Pikachu, and he shrugs as if he had no idea why our old friend is asking a question. 

"What is the question, Brock? You known me since I started my Journey." I asked the Pokémon Doctor. 

The Doctor looks at me and asks the question I never wanted to admit in front of anyone.

"Do you love someone?" He asks. 

I gulped in fear, sweating. I really don't know it back then, but I do love someone. And that someone was Serena.

Ever since that kiss when we departed in Kalos, I had this feeling that never faded away. 

Tireno said, thankfully before I started to reply to Brock's answer, "Hey, guys, look! It's Serena!" 

As we looked down, I saw Serena with her Sylveon and Braxien. 

She looked beautiful with her short hair and her beautiful eyes. It totally reminds me of how far we gone on our Journey together. 

Bonnie yells, "Go for it, Serena! You can do it!" 

I smiled, "She's going to be fine." 

Brock asks, "How will you know that, Ash?"

"Well, Serena's tough and strong. If anyone can do this, it's her." I replied. 

"Ash's right. We all seen her in her Pokémon Showcases. I know this would be like she'll feel right at home." Clement agrees. 

Serena

I am so nervous, but Sylveon and Braxien knew I can do it. As I saw my friends in the crowd, Ash smiles at me, knowing that everything would be absolutely nothing to be worried about.

I remember what he said to me during the time we travelled together in Kalos and when we first encounter one other as kids.

"Don't give up until it's over."  Ash's advice echoes inside my mind.

"Now Presenting her Contest debut, Serena Yvonne!"

I winked, "Ok, Braxien use Flame Thrower! And Sylveon use Swift!"

Both Pokémon did as instructed as beautiful display of fireworks came out, making all the audience gasp in awe and amazement.

As the performance was over, Dawn rushes me and gave me an encouragement smile.

"Serena, that was incredible! You looked amazing out there. I know it was your debut, but you act like a natural on your first attempt!"

I said, "Uh, thanks, Dawn. But just because we're friends, doesn't mean I'll let my guard down. Hey, where's May? Isn't she here, supporting us since we're Coordinators?"

 Dawn said in total shock, "Wait, you don't know?" 

I look at her with total confusion, "What you mean?"

Monsieur Pierre said, "For this special event, we invite our special guest, to go against her title, 

The Princess of Hoenn, May Maple!" 

My jaw dropped in shock, so was Braxien and Sylveon. 

May is the Princess of Hoenn?!?

How come she didn't tell me? Does Ash know about it?

Clement

As I watched May, the Princess of Hoenn, I said, "Since when May is a celebrity?"

Ash seems to be blushing, "I was kind of part of helping her become the Princess of Hoenn when I was travelling in Hoenn with Brock and her brother, Max. 

Their father is the Gym Leader in Hoenn. I challenged him and I won a badge, it was before I met you, Tireno, Bonnie and Serena." 

Gary said, "Ashy-boy still can't be a Pokémon Master after that." 

Ash said, "Hey! I learn a lot, Gary! I made it to the top two finalists in the Kalos League, remember?"

Suddenly Ash's Pokegear rings and Ash opens the message box. His eyes lit as he finished reading.

"What's wrong, Ash?" I asked the Trainer.

"It's from Alain. He said that Max was injured and his Pokémon was taken. How would I tell May about this?" He asks nervously.

"We will figure it all out, Ash. Let's just focus on the Contest first, then we help Max find his Pokémon afterwards." I suggested.

Ash sighs, "You're right, Clement, thanks."

Brock ask, "So, I was wondering, how you meet Bonnie and the gang, Ash?"
