y/n pov:
I was sitting on my best friends bed, listening to him play the piano with carful hands. His fingers danced around on the keys swiftly. He was singing my favorite song, "Angels" by Khalid and i closed my eyes and hummed to the song lightly, getting lost in the lyrics. I started to sing quietly, hoping he wouldn't notice.
The truth is, you've always had a soft spot in your heart for Aj. You found him so perfect and you loved the little flaws about him. His voice calmed you down, smooth like silk and soft like velvet. The way the words rolled off his tounge and into the crisp air, echoing throughout the empty room. His eyes were like oceans. They were crystal clear and carried so many emotions in them. They were calming and perfect.
Every time you heard him sing, you would fall deeper for him. You felt as though time stops and he and his voice are the only things important in this world.
You, on the other hand, never felt confident in your voice. Singing was a time to get lost in reality and forget about everything else, but you felt you weren't good enough. Especially compared to your best friend. Today you felt different, though. You opened your mouth and let your mind rest as you knew the lyrics and notes by heart. Right now, you felt fearless. Not a care in this world. Almost like you were high. Singing was your escape and you felt amazing with every second that passed by.
Aj noticed you singing and looked amazed. Your eyes met and you searched his, only to find pure happiness and love gleam in the chocolate milkeyway.
Once you finished, you sat down and smiled proudly. He sat there in shock, mouth wide open. He just stared at you like you were the only thing on earth.
Aj's pov:
I admired her beauty for a minute, not caring if i looked creepy. The way the sun cast a golden glow across her face, making her look like an angel. Her hair perfectly swept behind her back and a strand tucked behind her ear was only making me fall harder for her.
I gazed into her stunning eyes, intertwining my fingers with hers. She had a tinge of crimson flushed on her cheeks as she looked down, breaking her gaze. I lifted her chin and our eyes met once more. Time stopped as i leand in and she closed the gap. I kissed her gently and lovingly, pulling away shortly after. I swear it was so magical when our lips touched. My body tingled feeling her hand in mine still. Hesitantly, i asked, "I have loved you for so long and i can't imagine life without you. You have supported me through everything and you are more i could ever ask for, but friends isn't good enough. I feel a connection and i hope you do, too. y/n, will you make me so happy and be my girlfriend?" i asked hopefully, tears brimming in my eyes. She looked at me with a soft smile and i did the same. We leaned in again and kissed. This time more passionate. She pulled away and whispered an "of course" against my lips and went back to kissing me.
That was the day, ten years ago, that i started dating my best friend, now husband and father to three joyful children. We both couldn't ever been happier.
