Baby

"Yes."

"Okay, ready, and push!" The midwife said. I grabbed Shawn's hand.

I pushed hard. I screamed from pain and squeezed his hand.

"Again." She said. I screamed again and fell back onto the bed. Tears streamed down my red, hot cheeks.

30 minutes later

"How much longer?" I cried. Beads of sweat formed on my forehead.

"It's going to be another hour sweetie." The midwife said, with sympathetic look on her face.

"Noo!" I sobbed. Shawn wiped the sweat off of my head. "You can do it, Kay, remember in 1 hour you will have a tiny human laying on your chest." Shawn kissed my head.

"Okay, I'm ready!" I pushed again.

I cried loudly. "It's okay baby, it's okay!" Shawn kissed my temple.

"I want Alexaaa!!!" I sobbed. "Okay, I'm going to get her." Shawn smiled.

Shawn's P.O.V

I walked out of the room and into the waiting room. Ricky and Alex stood up. "Is she alright?" Alex asked.

I ran my hand through my messy hair. "No, she is in so much pain, I can't be in there!" A tear ran down my cheek.

"Oh Shawn!" Ricky sighed. "She want you Alexa" I told her.

"Okay, come on" She grabbed my forearm and dragged me back to the delivery room.

"Hey Kay" Alexa smiled as we walked into the room. "Hi!" She sobbed.

Kayla's P.O.V

"Okay, let's get the shoulders out." The midwife said. I pushed hard.

"You know what, your having your first baby, I'm going to leave you two" Alex kissed my head, then left.

Shawn walked over to me. "Your eyes are red, were you crying?" I asked.

"Yes, I just hate seeing you in pain." He told me. I kissed him. "Push!" The nurse said.

I grabbed his hand and pushed.

"I can't do it, I'm so tired." I cried. "Five more minutes of pain for a lifetime of happiness!" Shawn smiled. "One more push!"

Cries filled the room. "It's a girl! She is beautiful y'all" The nurse exclaimed.

"Oh my gosh! A girl!" I panted. The nurse cut the umbilical cord and laid my baby on my chest. I burst into tears.

Shawn stroked her head. "She is gorgeous." I smiled.

"She looks so much like you!" Shawn grinned. The midwife came and took her into her own arms.

"I'm just going to clean her up!" She wiped her down and gave her back to me.

She laid in my arms. She reached up and put her tiny hand on my lips. I pecked her fingers.

"L-leilani Katherine M-mendes" I smiled. (Lay-la-ni)

"It's perfect. Your perfect" Shawn kissed my head, then Leilani's.

"I'm so happy it's over." I mumbled. "Me too!" Shawn chuckled. I shuffled over an patted the space next to me.

Shawn sat down and wrapped his arm around me. "I love my girls" Shawn grinned.

"We love you too!" I giggled. Lei started crying. "Sh sh shh! Don't cry baby!" I rocked her gently.  

"She is hungry, here, I'm going to teach you how to breast feed." The midwife told me. 

"Okay." I gave Lei to Shawn. "Lift up your shirt". So I did that. 

Shawn gave back Lei and the nurse help her attach her mouth to my boob.

It hurt at first but it started feeling normal after a few minutes. After 5 minutes, she stopped drinking and started crying. "What's up now?" I asked.

"She probably needs a change." The nurse said. "I will do it." Shawn took her and walked to the changing station.

He changed her nappy/diaper the walked back. "Go to sleep baby, you look exhausted." He smiled.

"Okay" I yawned. I got a blanket and fell to sleep.

Shawn's P.O.V

I was talking to Lei in a baby voice.

"You want mommy? Yeah! O she's sleeping! Haha!" I put my hands on my face. "Where's daddy? Peek a boo!" I chuckled.

She giggled, then started to cry. I got the teddy that Alex gave her and gave it to Leilani.

"You need food? Okay okay." I turned to Kayla.

"Wake up babe, Lei is hungry." I kissed her lips, she loves waking up like that. She groaned. "She won't stop crying" I sighed.

"Okay. Give her here." Kayla sat up and took Lei. She fed her quickly. Lei fell asleep soon after eating.

"I love my adorable little family!" Shawn smiled. "Me too."

There was another knock on the door. "Come in!" Shawn said quietly.

Alexa and Ricky walked in. "Hey!" I whispered.

"Hi! Omg! She is holding the bear!" Alex giggled. "Yeah she is." I smiled. "Wow. She is beautiful." Ricky cooed.

"I know right!" I kissed Leilani's head. "What's her name?" Alex asked. "Leilani Katherine Mendes" Shawn told them.

"Aw cute! So she took your name?" Ricky asked Shawn. "Yeah she did" He smiled.

"Hey! Mr Sex God Mendes is now Mr Daddy Mendes! Congrats love birds!" Ricky hugged us.

"I'm so happy for you!" Alexa smiled. "Oh! We have something to tell you!" Shawn grinned.

"Spill!" Ricky said, excitedly. They sat on the end of the bed, legs crossed. 

"We want you to be her God Parents!" I smiled big. "OMG YAY!" Ricky said loudly.

"Shhhhhhh!" I hushed. Lei started crying loudly. Shawn took her and walked around the room in circles, rocking her up and down.

"I'm so sorry!" Ricky apologised. "It's okay Uncle Ricky!" I giggled.

"She won't stop!" Shawn whined. I stood up and took her into my arms. "Sh baby please!" I rocked her.

"We are going to leave you three!" Alex stood up and Ricky followed. They left the room.

"Lavenders blue, dilly dilly, Lavenders green. When I am king, dilly dilly, you shall be queen!" I sang the song and Leilani, slowly, quietened down. 

"Pretty" Shawn smiled. "Thank you Sexy!"
