"What's taking Tucker so long?" Danny growled. Sam was coming back to herself, so she was beginning to worry. How would she get Paulina from those vines? Danny wasn't going to help her at the moment. 'Wait if I just concentrate, maybe I still have enough power to..." Her thoughts were interrupted by a familiar cry.
Tucker screamed as the Fenton's R.V. came through the wall. Tucker's heart felt as if it would burst. Did he still look ghostly? "Tucker?" Mrs.Fenton uttered disbelieving. Well, at least she didn't think he was a ghost. "What are you doing here? Were you held hostage?" Maddie questioned. Hostage? Dash! Oh great, he still had to save Dash. " Mrs.Fenton! You don't know how glad I am to see you! Um, actually I was here to rescue the hostages! There's one in the gym!!!" Tucker ran to the gym but was stopped by the large arm of Mr.Fenton. "Tucker, have you seen Danny? Jazz said he was with you two." Tucker said what any best friend would say in this particular circumstance.
"He, uh, just left for home now! Yeah! He was way to scared to come with Sam and me." Tucker took a breath of relief when he saw the pair buying it. Maddie's expression changed from worry to anger. Danny was going to be in SOOO much trouble at home. "Now time to save the hostages, but first..." Danny's mom charged the Fenton Bazooka. "We get Phantom." Tucker gulped. So much for relief.
Danni was trailing invisibly behind her whom she knew to be her 'cousin's' parents. Her fear was strong but so was her determination to help Danny. He had saved her from destabilizing. The least she could do was return the favor and save him from himself. Danni noticed an African American boy in the hall. Tucker. If she could get his attention. For some reason the Danny's friend looked terrified. "Tucker!" The invisible girl whispered after the Fentons had run off. Tucker's eyes widened. "Danni?" The youngest halfa giggled. "If you mean girl Danni then yes!" The girl then sobered. "So, where's my cousin?" Tucker pointed to the cafeteria. "How are we gonna get him back to normal?" She asked. At this the techno geek smirked. "I've got an idea." First they had to get Sam.
Danny heard his friends familiar scream. Could he not deal with whoever was there? "Must I do everything?" He sighed. He then picked up the whirring of the machines behind him. His parents. The teen turned toward them, bitterness building in him. "Phantom!" The pair cried in unison. "Where's Danny Fenton?! I bet your holding him hostage!" His mom screamed at him. The teen laughed darkly to himself. Still no idea that he was their son. His eyes burned bright and his hair rose with his anger. "And what would I have to do with your son?" Danny asked quietly. His parents were silent. "That's what I thought." The boy smirked. "I can tell you one thing." Danny flew to Jack and Maddie's level. The only light in the large cafeteria came from the glow of Phantom's eyes and hair. The pair felt chills down there spine as Danny leaned close and whispered, "Your Danny is gone."
Sam had phased out of the Cafeteria while Danny was distracted to find Paulina. "I can't believe I'm doing this." The girl muttered under her breath. She then saw a red clad figure flying at her level. She went intangible before the unknown figure could crash into her. Unfortunately the unidentified person was not so lucky and crashed into a wall. She then heard a groan come from whom she found out was..."Valerie?" Sam gasped. "Manson?" The huntress asked in similar confusion. "How in the world are you flying, why are you wearing that, and where's Phantom?" Sam took a breath. "In that order Desiree, because I can, and in the Cafeteria." The African American girl gaped underneath the mask. "So she made you a...." "Ghost, yep." Sam then remembered her mission. "Come on huntress. I've got someone to save."
As Tucker flew through the halls with Danni, he couldn't help but remember that moment of panic seeing the Fentons while he was in this state. Was this what his best friend went through all the time? With his own parents? Tucker felt renewed empathy for his friend. He had to get to Dash. "Danni, do you think you could help me with melting ice? Your ectoblasts can do that right?" Danni nodded. "Did Danny do that?" Tucker turned away in shame. "Yeah, but I helped him." The 12 year old gave him a small encouraging smile. "Hey it's not your fault. I'm sure he's fine." "He's in Ice!!!" Tucker shouted. The ghost girl sped up. "Then we have no time to lose."
Sam saw Paulina's limp form and for a moment worried she was too late. "Okay help me hold her steady, because she'll fall when I remove these vines." The goth fought to keep her voice steady as she gave Valerie directions. "One, two, three!" Sam concentrated on removing the plants and making them shrink. For a terrifying second nothing happened. Were her powers gone now? She was relieved to her the slithering vines snake down. "It worked!"She cried holding on to Paulina's right as Valerie held the left. As they laid her down Valerie checked for a pulse. "She'll be fine. It's steady if not a bit slow." Sam smiled happy that Paulina, yes, Paulina was okay. 'The irony!' The goth thought. She then remembered Danny. Hopefully he would snap out of this.
Danni was careful to keep her ectoenergy blasts low to not hurt the blonde haired teen. As the last drop melted the girl felt weary from having spent so much energy on the flight here. "Uh, Danni, you okay?" The girl nodded. "Just exhausted from the flight here." Tucker gave an understanding nod. "Tucker, he doesn't look so good." Dash's whole body was tinged a light blue, rather than pink. "How long was he trapped in that ice?" The techno geek then put two fingers on the football star's wrist. "Danni..." The boy whispered panicked. "What?" "He has no pulse!"
Danny was having fun playing with his parents' minds, especially Jack's. How could he have ever called that sorry excuse for a man his father? The accident was because of him! He had invented the stupid portal in the first place. How could he never figure out he was chasing his own son? It was then he felt the heat which came from his hands and feet. White fire trailed behind him as he edged closer. The ghost boy smiled dangerously while his parents watched in fear.
AN: Okay who do you thinks controlling Danny? I gave you a few hints. First person to guess I will have make an appearance in the story. Still looking for fanart if anyone's interested.
