Chapter 5

“Hey! Put that back! No, don’t touch that!” Ohmygosh I didn’t know it would be this hard.

Adela and Annika look at me funny.

“Sorry. I’m just not used to people touching my stuff…”

Wow, Jade. Wow. Just. Stop. Talking.

“So. Um. Are you guys going to the barbeque later tonight?” Good job, Jade. Nice way to start a conversation.

“Duh! Adela and I will go guy hunting then, it’s a perfect time!”

Yup, I like Annika already. An average teenage girl looking for a special someone.

“Actually, Annika, I was going to take a nap or something. But I guess I’ll go.” Adela remarked.

So Adela is the more laid back one. Our friendship will be interesting.

*Later that evening*

I’m seriously going to punch the next person who talks right now. I’m at the barbeque and Annika is eyeing a few guys while Adela looks like she’d rather be sleeping. That Sheyanna girl – she is getting on my nerves. I wonder if she knows that yelling is not attractive. If I hear one more word come out of her mouth…

“OMIGOSH, MY TWIN BROTHER DOES THE SAME EXACT THING.”

“WOW. THAT’S DUMB. WAS SHE HOT?”

Ok, that’s it. I’ll apologize later, but I’m leaving right now. There isn’t any place on campus where you could just have a little alone time. Ohhh Wooow. I totally forgot the school has a gazebo. I know where I’ll be spending the next hour

*Later that evening*

“Hey, what are you doing here by yourself?”

What the heck. I wonder who that was. Looks like I should turn around before things become awkward.

“Oh, it’s just you Matt.”

“You were expecting someone else?”

“Oh, no! I’m actually glad it’s you. I didn’t want it to be some stranger.”

“So what’s up? The barbeque ended like a half hour ago.”

“I just couldn’t stand that Sheyanna girl. She was being so loud.”

“You don’t like her? She has an amazing personality!”

“I never said I didn’t like her. I just got annoyed by her because she was being so freaking loud.”

“Once you get to know her, you’ll like her better. Trust me. I didn’t know you were so judgmental. It’s getting late. Bye.”

“Bye.”

Wow. That was a bit harsh. I don’t know what to do. Well its getting a bit chilly out here. I look around, and there’s no one walking around. Uhh, gross. There’s your typical high school couple sucking faces. They’re screwed if campus security sees them.

Whoa there, what am I seeing? I look closer to see the faces of the lovers. Matt and Sheyanna? Matt has got a lot of explaining to do.

I’m heading back to my room when I hear someone behind me. I turn around. Its Sheyanna, greeeaat.

“Hey, Sheyanna.”

“Hey, Omigosh I have so much to tell you about today. Is it alright if I stay in your room tonight?”

“Yeah, but you’re sleeping on the floor.”
