Letter 5: The Parallel World

The Year 2012 or the "Present"

Agnes:

If such a thing could be real and we were able to change the past, then a 26-year old Ethan would be in my world. That's what I thought.

May 24th

This day starts a week long absence from school for Ethan.

I asked him what happened, be he didn't answer.

Now I think it's because it was Ethan's mother's 49th birthday.

Ethan's mother died on the day of opening ceremony.

I asked after Ethan passed away.

Maybe Ethan's problems are about his mother. If I actually asked him about it.

"Morning Agnes!" said Ethan while entering our classroom and his soaked with rain.

"Ethan you're soaked!"

"Yeah. It started raining halfway here." He replied to me while dressing his hair.

"Where's your umbrella? Since it was only drizzling at first, I don't bring one." said Elize.

"Stupid." said Harry and he's soaked with rain too.

"Like you can talk four-eyes." said Anton.

June 21st

It poured all morning.

(but cleared up in the afternoon}

I let an absolutely soaked Ethan borrow my handkerchief.

I wish I had a bath towel.

Thank goodness I bring a big towel for him.

"Here use this." I said and I lent him a big bath towel.

"What?! A bath towel?! Why do you have that?! You're awesome Agnes thanks!" said Ethan to me and he smiles.

"What about mine, Agnes?" said Harry to me.

"Sorry I only have one."

"Agnes, can we go home together?" said Ethan to me while drying himself up.

"Eh?"

"Since it's right before exams, we don't have practice." said Ethan.

"Sure I can. Elize! Mandy! I'm going home with Ethan today. Everybody should come!" I said to them and Ethan starts shushing at me.

"Can't today. We have plans already." said Elize.

"It's just the two of you." said Mandy.

"Anton, Harry, what about you two?"

"I'm going straight home to play video games." said Anton and he smirks at me.
