Letter 7: The Final Day and The Fireworks Show Under The Pool

The Year 2012 or The Present

Agnes:

July 15th
The last day of the Cultural Festival
Anton changed places with me so that Ethan and I worked together.
Every time Ethan and I end up together, I get nervous and can’t talk to him.

“While we’re slow, can I ask you something? So, between Anton, Harry, and me, if you could confess to anyone, who would it be?” Ethan asked while holding a water hose.
“EH?!”
“Who’d it be?”
“U-um… I can’t choose.” I said and I look away.
“Just tell me. Don’t worry you will not hurt my feelings.”
“That’s not it….” I said and I waved my hand.
I mean, I know who it would be but I can’t ever tell him!
“Then how about you Ethan?!” said Elize while she puts a beverage in Ethan’s face.
“What?!!” shouted Ethan.
“Out of the three of us, who would you confess to?” said Elize and she move beside me and Mandy.
“Um… I can’t say.”
“That’s right. Sorry to interrupt. See you later!” said Elize and they walk away.
Did Mandy and Elize know that Ethan is the guy that I want to confess?

Anton:
While we’re having a break, Ethan and I are sitting in a bench with a parasol above.
“Ethan you should have told her. “ I’d confess to you, Agnes.” I said while drinking my juice.
“Even though I don’t like her?”
“You mean you don’t?”
“Guess it would be okay if I started to..” he said and he’s feeling down.
“Why?”
“I don’t… want any regrets.” He replies while drinking his juice.
“Why do you mean by that?”
“On a multiple choice, I don’t know what to choose and not be wrong. I’ve done a lot of multiple choice, been wrong and regretted it.”
“A lot?”
“Like going out with Eunice. I made problems for Agnes. I don’t want to do anything to cause regrets again. I’m scared of hurting somebody so I won’t choose.” Ethan said and he looks away.
“Without trying it first? Then you can’t do anything and then nothing will change, Ethan.”
“If nothing changes, that’s fine after all.”
“Ethan are you all right?”
“Yeah of course.”
“So, want to head back to the pool?”
“Yeah.”

Agnes:
In the “change the future” letter, all of the points are right but I couldn’t fulfil the two of them. The day of the opening ceremony, we invited him out. I let Ethan and Eunice going out. What kind of influence did that have in the future? I don’t want Ethan to think about bad things. If I don’t do this right, there will be one more regret left.

At the end of the last day, you’ll watch the fireworks with Ethan by the pool and that’s it.
Today is a mysterious and brave day.
If it’s as always, then you’ll be fine.

The night of the cultural festival has come. The five of us watch the contest to support Harry but it’s not good as we thought.
“Agnes, where are we watching the fireworks?” Ethan asked while he puts his hands on his pocket.
“The pool!” I shouted.
“I was thinking the same too.”
“Guys, Eunice won the contest.” Elize said.
“Well, whatever. They didn’t know her true personality. I really wanna hit her.” Mandy said.
“Go for it, Mandy?” shouted Elize to her.
“And too bad! In the last place is junior class 6, Harry!” said the emcee on the stage.
“Damn it!: said Harry.
“There’s Harry guys!” said Elize.
“But you got only one vote!” said the emcee.
“What?? Who was it?! Who was the one vote?!” shouted Harry and he go beside Elize with an angry look.
“Right here!” shouted Elize while waving her hand.
“You jerk!! I don’t want a single vote you asshole!”
“But you look so handsome when your glasses has not been put on!” said Elize and she remove his glasses and runs away.
“Give me back my glasses! Without them, you look like an angel!” said Harry nad he chases her.
“Then you really see me!” shouted Elize to him.
“You know, they should really get together.” said Anton.
“Yep.” Mandy said.
The fireworks are soon. Will I be nervous? Have fun? I can’t calm down.
“Should we head to the pool?” Ethan asked.
“Yeah. Let’s go.”
“Go ahead. I’ll catch up later.”
“Okay.”
