The Year 2012 or The Present

Agnes:
“This is the letter that I got. You can read it. You got yours on the day of the opening ceremony right?” said Anton and he lends me his letter from himself in the future.
“Yeah, in the same envelope too.”
“Really?” he said and I open his letter and read.

Mr. Anton David,
How are you, my 16 year old self?
I’m writing this letter from the future.
Actually, I have a very important favour to ask of you.
I want you to erase the regret I am carrying.
Not just for me, but so that you don’t follow the same path that led me to it.

“Regrets. Like not to inviting Ethan to walk home with us or make sure I get Ethan to join the soccer club that sort of thing. But that day, I didn’t read the letter until I got home, and it still happened.” Anton said.
“Is this all of it?”
“Yeah. He said he wants me to save Ethan. You don’t have to worry, Agnes. It’ll be alright. We will definitely save him.”
“Sure.”
But, the reason Ethan joined the soccer club was due to Anton’s letter. The future me and future Anton are probably saying the same thing. There is only one regret that we didn’t save Ethan. I guess everything he’s done up until now has been for Ethan.
“This is what he asked for. We’ll grant it together.” Anton said and we read the letter.

September 14th
This is Ethan’s birthday.
We didn’t know till long afterwards because Ethan didn’t tell us anything so nobody knew about it.
Thus, we said we would celebrate the next year, and asked what he wanted.
But in the end, we never celebrated his 18th birthday.
So before that day, ask him when his birthday is and what he wants.
After that, I

“Huh? Where’s the rest, Anton?”
“Sorry. I left it at home. Don’t worry it wasn’t important anyway. I think.”
“You think?”
“Hahaha so I guess I go home for now.”
“Okay. See you.”
Ethan’s birthday, this wasn’t in my letter but the fact that Anton also got a letter makes me happy and a little relieved. Anton is so strong to actually tell me.
After that day, the six of us are having lunch when suddenly Anton makes his move.
“Ethan, when’s your birthday?” Anton asked.
“What? That was sudden.” Ethan replies.
“Mine’s November 27th, I thought I would throw it out there.”
“Isn’t that still two months away?” Harry asked.
“Mine’s September 14th.” Ethan said.
“What?! September 14th?! That’s really soon right?! Isn’t that next week did you hear that?!” shouted Anton to me.
“What?! How lucky!” I shouted.
“Then let’s celebrate together! We’ll bake a cake and everything!” said Elize.
“Seriously? Awesome. Then, I’m looking forward to it.” Ethan replied.
When school time ends, Anton and I stalk our friends to know Ethan wants from them.
First are Mandy and Elize.
“Ethan! Is there anything you want?” Mandy asked while doing their cleaning duty with Elize.
“Huh? I don’t really want a present?”
“It’s not really a present or anything we’re just asking.” Elize said.
“But I do want something. Everyone was talking about it before. I want to see a game show at this area’s stadium. What was that title of that game again?”
“The Face Wants to Fight game show?!” shouted Elize.
“Yeah, that!”
“Okay one ticket just for you!” said Mandy.
Next is Harry while reading his comic book.
“Ethan, how have you been? Anything that you’ve wanted?” said Harry.
“I don’t really want a present.”
“Stupid. It’s not a present, you fool.”
“Then I want to read that funny comic book you were talking about.”
“Sorry faggots? Alright, a comic book.”
“Just the first volume.”
“It’s not a present, stupid.”
Next is me while getting ready to walk home.
“Ethan, is there something you want?”
“I don’t need presents. Elize, Mandy, and Harry are already giving me something. Well, I have to practice. See you.” He said while wearing a very old sports bag.
“It’s not time yet. Hey Ethan, you always use that bag right? You don’t have one like Anton’s? ”
“No I don’t. I had one before but when we moved. My mom threw it away since I wasn’t going to join a club.”
“Got it!”
“No, I don’t want something expensive. I don’t have a problem with this one.”
“It’s not like it’s your birthday present or anything! See you!” I said and I see Eunice standing beside the doors.
“It’s totally a present.” Harry said.
“I’m giving Ethan a bag for his birthday.” Eunice said.
“So, how about you don’t? I’m giving him one.”
“You’re a junior, so just stop. Just give up and stop seeing him.”
“And what do you want?” shouted Mandy.
“Nothing.”
“Yeah, right. It’s clear that you don’t like my friend. Please get a hold of yourself.”
“Talk about pretty. Juniors.”
“Who’s the brat?! Ethan broke up with you! You should give up!!” shouted Elize.
“We only went out once! How can I be satisfied with that?! But anyway that has nothing to do with you. I have something to say to her, so get out of my way.”
“I’m her friend so it has everything to do with me. If you want to get him back, how about fixing your personality? Ethan saying that he would rather be with Agnes than with you.” Mandy said angrily.
“Ha? Me? A bad person?” Eunice said and Mandy suddenly wants to beat her up but she don’t.
“I’m not a nice person either. So how about I tell everyone that the school miss is bullying a junior? Don’t want me to? Then get lost.”
“You can just stop that. Whatever, I don’t care about Ethan. Hmmph!” said Eunice and she walks out.
“And we win!!” shouted Elize.
“Girls are scary.” Harry said.
“Sorry for getting you two involved.” I said.
“Yeah that’s totally fine! We just had piling up. I’m all relaxed now! Thanks to Mandy!” shouted Elize.
“Tell me if she messes with you again. I’ll kill her.” Mandy said.
“Thanks.”
“Agnes, come here. Ethan, stay here.” Mandy said and we go to the rooftop with Elize.
“We’re sorry that we didn’t stop Ethan from going out with her.” Mandy said.
“And we said stuff like, isn’t that good!” Elize said.
“Agnes, you like Ethan, right? Sorry I didn’t notice sooner.” Mandy said.
“Yeah.”
“We’re your friends. You have to tell us this stuff without hiding it! Don’t hide things anymore!” said Elize.
“Yeah, I’m sorry and thank you.”
“We’ll help you!” shouted Elize.
“No! wait!”
“I knew you’d said that.” Mandy said.
