"Megan?" Someone was knocking on my room door.
"Oh great, someone else here for you." My room mate, Bobbi groaned, flipping her long black hair.
I followed Mrs. Debbie down the hall. As she walked in front of me I looked her over. Her long flower skirt, her brown hair into a bun, her brown leather jacket and gray shirt. The way she walked when her nude heels clicked against the hard floor.
I sat down and waited as two adults walked in and sat down across from me and Mrs. Debbie.
"This is Janice and Derek Price."
I smiled just like I always do. I couldn't count the amount of parents that have came to tak about adopting me. But I was never really anyone's choice. A newly married couple that couldn't have kids came one day to talk to me. I stayed about a week, and then they found out about my hard rock, and metal addiction.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Megan Bennett. I'm not like most girls. I have medium length jet black hair. My red tips have faded by now. I've been in this place for three years and a half. You would always either catch me in skinny jeans or sweatpants. I never went anywhere without my black converse.
I had an addiction. To food and rock. No one really understood me. I had to take counseling in this place too, because before I came here I cut myself. Yep, with blades from a pencil sharpener. It was just something about a blade and blood that made me forget everything for a while.
I have always been pretty much alone. My mother, Peggy was a whore that sold her body to horny mid-aged men. My dad, Mark left four years after I was born. Now? He's living in Michigan with a woman who's been arrested three times, named Jenny. I'm 5'7 and 97 pounds. I used to be bigger, but everything changed once I got here.
" Megan, tell them about yourself, please." Mrs. Debbie said.
Here I went again with the same thing I said everytime. Mrs. Debbie has tried to get me to change it. I've tried, but it doesn;t always work.
"Well, you wouldn't call me normal." I cleared my throat. "My mom was a hooker, and my dad left us at four. Finally, my mom met a man and sent me here. She told me I was ungrateful and needed to be taught a lesson."
"Megan.." Mrs. Debbie mumbled.
"Anyway," I started again. " I have an addiction with rock music, and I eat a lot. I might not seem like it, but I aam actually sensitive. I try to block things out, but it doesn't always works. I'm a virgin, and I don't do drugs. Just a teenage girl addicted to music, food, and social networking. I'm actually a pretty good kid. And oh, I'm sixteen." I smiled.
"Well," the woman, Janice just kind of looked at me. "That was an awful lot of information."
"Can you tell me about yourself?" I asked the couple.
"Well," the woman began. "Two years ago I apoted a son and decided I wanted a girl. I'm not strict unless it comes down to certain things. We are a very christian family who attends church every Sunday. I am a nurse and I like to keep my kids educated."
"I'm Derek." The man interrupted. "I am a police officer and I must say I can be very protective and strict. But, I don't like to keep rules. Since you are sixteen, I will allow you to date. You might not see me around the house a lot, so if we decide to adopt you, you would have to help around the house."
"Well," Mrs. Debbie stood, smoothing out her skirt. "Come on Megan, and give them time to think about it."
And just like always, the couple would return in a couple of days if they wanted to adopt and call in a few days if they decide to keep looking.
I was honestly expecting a call, but once Mrs. Debbie came to get me to tell me I was leaving, I was fully shocked. I wasn't especting my roomate to come up and hug me, but she did. I always thought she hated me.
I packed up my stuff into the same blue luggage I brought here with me, and headed into the front to go home with my new parents.
"Goodbye Megan. I hope all of the best for you." She wrapped me in a hug.
I put my luggage into the trunk of their red volvo and cimbed into the back.
"Safety first." Janice smiled as she put her seatbelt on.
I expected the ride to my new home to be silent, but Janice and Derek surprised me with the amount of questions they were asking about me and my life.
When I arrived to my new home, I took it all in. In front of me was a two story marble-like house. Glass doors, a swimming pool, the whole nine yards. Breathtaking. I soon realized I would be living with a rich family.
Janice showed me my new room, upstairs. It was a big room that could fit two king size beds, with white walls. I would have to ask them for paint. There was a wooden floor with a blue rug. There was a window with pink curtains, and a bed with a zebra bedset.
"Lunch will be ready in ten. Come downstairs to meet your brother.
I started to unpack until Derek called time for lunch. I went to the kitchen and took a seat.
"Megan, meet Josh." Derek smiled as the chair beside me was pulled out.
Beside me was a guy about seventeen I was guessing. He had brown hair and green eyes. He wasn't exactly slender, but he had the shape of a sports guy. He was tall. Taller than me. About 5'9?
"May I ask why you're staring?" Josh asked without looking at me.
"I was just..uhm.."
"Exactly." He smirked.
"Josh" Janice came by with our plates. "Be nice!"
"Well, I don't like when people have staring problems." He took a drink of whatever he was drinking. "Learn that honey."
"Well, I don't like people who need attitude adjustments either." I said raising my glass. "Cheers?"
"Settle down!" Janice said putting a plate of peanut butter sandwhiches and another plate of fruit in the middle of the table.
Health freaks, I'm guessing.
My new parents didn't make me go to school just the next day (Friday.) So i waited for Monday to come around. Instead of riding the bus, Derek drove Josh and I to school.
"Why does she get the front?" Josh complained.
"Because she's new here. You've been here for two years." Derek said flipping through the radio stations.
"Why don't you have a car yet?" I replied. "You've been here two years, you were expecting it."
"Shut up!" Josh thumped me on the head.
"You took your driving test?" I smirked.
"Failed it!" Derek coughed.
"Oh yeah yeah, make fun of me all you want." Josh rolled his eyes as Derek and I laughed.
"We're not lauging at you." Derek replied.
"Well, I'm not laughing!" Joshcomplained.
"Well, it's time for you to get out." Derek laughed.
I looked at the school in front me, seen people prancing around the schoolyard. Cheerleaders, jocks, goths, nerds, average people. I seen all the groups in front of me, but I had no idea who I belonged to.
I grabbed my school stuff and walked inside.
