Just Friends

"The Unexpected"

 You did accept his friendship offer and after that moment Jungkook and you unbelievably got along with each other. You instantly became close unlike with your best friends Ahreum and Chanmi, it took 5 years for both of you to realize that you're born for each other and with Jungkook it only took a day- a whole of sharing ideas with each other. You two became closer than usual. You even noticed that he treats girls coldly except you and you will always ask him why and he would simply answer 'We're friends'. You also had the chance to know Kangwoo and Jaesuk, his best friends since elementary and you found them amazing. Because of him, you already knew an additional 3 persons in your class already.

But whenever you are with Ahreum and Chanmi and every time you approach him while you're with your friends around you. He never responds to you or in other words, he always gives a silent stare or worse give you a cold shoulder. You somehow got annoyed by it and really wanted to confront him about that.

"Okay, class dismissed." Mrs. Park said, wrapping things up and called it a day. Everyone stood and started preparing for home, but you stayed still on your seat.Chanmi and Ahreum watched you quietly as they headed to your way and suddenly hit you on the head.

"What the- YA!" You screamed, feeling like your brain just left your skull. "Why did you do that?!" You yelled and went to hit their heads too.

"You seemed a little off today," Ahreum said with a pout.

"Ahreum-a, I know you're cute but will you stop doing that?" You said, getting irritated with her pout. "You're not a 5 year old." You added.

"Paah! Someone said she looks cute when she pouts-" Chanmi laughed. "Aigoo, Haesoo-a our best friend is in love." She added, wrapping her arm around Ahreum's neck.

You are sure the moment speaks something, the truth is revealed and there it was, your best friend whom you thought would be a virgin in life finally is dating someone but you didn't take it positively that you suddenly stood up and glared at Ahreum.

"W-what Haesoo.."

"You're dating? Since when?" You asked, you wanted to be cool with it but you just control that annoyance you suddenly felt. It's not like you hate dating or having a relationship to an opposite sex but it's your best friend who will be losing time for you because she will be spending time with her boyfriend already and you don't want that.

"Haesoo, don't ever think I'm going to leave you or lose my time for you guys," Ahreum said giving you an assured tap on the shoulder. She knows what you don't want and wanted to make you feel okay. "Haesoo.."

"Fine! So what if you're dating?!" You suddenly exclaimed you felt your eyes began to burn that you immediately pulled them for an embrace. "Just know your limitations okay?" You said then Chanmi slapped your arm.

"What the hell are you talking about? How can they have sex if Ahreum doesn't even know a condom?" Chanmi said loudly and you didn't control yourself from slapping your hand covering her noisy mouth. You noticed how Ahreum's face turned red. She doesn't like those kinds of words that comes out from Chanmi's mouth, it felt really weird for her and for you too.

"Ya, Han Chanmi watch that mouth of yours, okay? Aish." You hissed and roughly pulled your hand away but you noticed your palm was wet. At first you were hesitant that it was Chanmi's saliva but when you smelled it..

In the washroom, you were mumbling to yourself alone as you curse Chanmi numerous times. How you hate her so much today. She just licked your hand and guess what, she's really happy with it. Stupid her, now instead of catching up with Jungkook today you're here washing your hand like an idiot.

"Aish, stupid." You huffed as you finished washing your hands and walked out of the washroom. Now you find the main building empty and your classmates were already gone home. You took a deep breath and heaved out a sigh before you started to walk towards the exit door. As you reached it, someone covered your eyes from behind all of the sudden. You gasped in shock and almost screamed because of it. You tried to pull away but the person was too strong.

"Ya, you want to die? I can give you that." You said holding onto the person's hand tightly. You were too pissed to get pissed for the second time.

"Guess who." He finally spoke, you stopped and sighed knowing it was Jungkook. He pulled away and you were blind for a moment before you see him clear and you were really surprised to see him smiling at you.

You shot him a look, curious on what is the reason behind that smile, "What?"

"What's in the mood today, huh?" He asked ruffling your hair.
.

"Aish, stop with that." You snapped and turned his back on him. "I'm having a bad mood." You added but he pulled you back making you face him again.

"You're hungry?" He asked out of the blue. You scoffed almost held out a laugh.

"Why are you so random?" You snapped back raising a brow at him.

"I just thought buying you food to cool your head down for a bit." He said while puffing his cheeks.

"Okay. As you said your treat." You snapped your finger.

You both went to a food stall near your bus stop. He actually did buy you food, and you really felt special when he told you it's his first time he bought food for a girl, not to mention your mood finally became good.

"Thanks, Kook." You said and began to sip a mango shake he bought you.

"You're welcome." He winked and you both head to the bus stop. The two of you were quiet along the way until Jungkook broke the ice. "By the way, let's take the same bus Hae."

"Really?" You blinked, it was surprising that he finally asked to take the same bus with you.

"Yup, you don't like?" He asked, pretending to take back what he said.

"Sure, I was surprised like it was like... for the first time in forever~" You sang making him laugh and ruffled your hair again.

In the bus, the two of you were awfully quiet again and the only thing that was breaking the silence is the sound of both of you sipping mango shake.

"Hey," You said nudging his arm. He hummed in response, not taking his eyes away from the drink. "You seemed bright today, why?" You asked you didn't want your question a bit personal so you described what you noticed in him first.

"Good news." He replied, this time he looked at you.

"What good news?" You smiled, but somehow you didn't like the feeling you have right now.

"Tell me why you're mad first." He grinned, and you know you have to answer that question in order for him to tell the reason of his bright mood.

You set aside your drink and looked away "It's Chanmi.. she's very annoying.."

"I know it's not about Chanmi." He said and you are caught in a line. You have to tell what really makes you mad and it is not Chanmi.

"Is it about me?" He asked.

"Wow, you are such a good guesser." You chuckled, but you eventually shook your head. If you're upset with him, he would be the last person you'll hate for life. It's not him, but your family. It makes you mad yet you don't want to tell him. You are scared and really felt it would be shameful telling it to him that your family is not happy.

"C'mon I won't stop asking you why.." He chuckled, poking your side.

"No." You said and looked away, your seriousness swallowed you already.

"Come on, please? Bestie?" He grinned.

You should be annoyed by now since he was trying to make you tell something that you don't want to tell but hearing him call you bestie, the way Chanmi and Ahreum call you really makes you feel awkward for him. "OMG, Jeon Jungkook why are you so gay? Eww." You burst out feeling so embarrassed from what he said, but you stopped when you noticed that he was serious. "Bestie? You're serious?"

"Why? We're not best friends?" He asked, "You don't like me being your best friend? I can be your lover." He added.

"Wait - stop right there Jeon Jungkook." You held your hand right on his face, stopping him from talking. "First of all, I like being friends with you, but best friends? We just knew each other for a couple of weeks and- "

"You are the only girlfriend that I have and I don't want to lose you." He cuts you and you were really taken aback from it like you wanted him to say it again.

"Y-ya Jeon Jungkook, you know a boy and a girl can NOT be friends forever, right? Worst, best friends." You quoted, emphasizing the word 'NOT'. "And hello- I don't want to fall in love with a guy like you like duh 'I don't talk to strangers' dude.." You said and it just made him laugh. "Ya, Jeon Jungkook, I'm serious."

"Ya, Park Haesoo.. love can happen to everyone but not to us... we are friends.. best friends, right?" He said pinching your cheek, and you can see he really meant it but shouldn't you be agreeing with that wholeheartedly?

"Yup, we're friends." You nodded in defeat and besides you wanted to be special to him so you agreed on becoming his best friend.

"Best friends." He said, raising his pinky finger. "Pinky swear.."

You rolled your eyes in annoyance, "Why are you so gay?! Gawd, Jeon Jungkook you.."

"Swear!" He cuts you again stretching out his hand to you for a promise.

"Oh my God, fine! Pinky swear! Sheesh." You said in full annoyance, hooking your pinky finger with his. "So what's the good news?" You finally asked after having a long fun talk.
