"It's Prom Night"

That night, a white car stopped by the front of your house. Your brother Hyun, went to check who it was and came back with a loud giggle.

"Noona's boyfriend is here! Noona's boyfriend is here! He's got a car!" He yelled all around the house trying to find you, your mom and your dad.

"Aish, he's not my boyfriend for Pete's sake." You mumbled in annoyance as you quickly went downstairs to meet him.

"Wow, I thought you're going to wear a tux." He chuckled, as he watched you walking down the stairs wearing a pink floral lace dress matched with silver high heels. You rolled your eyes and scoffed, but you were very embarrassed. It's your first time wearing such dress.

"Unfortunately, I didn't find a size for me." You grinned and hugged him. "You look good Kangwoo, thanks for being my date again."

"No problem, I won't waste the chance to date a beautiful girl like you."

You rolled your eyes again, "Beautiful my-"

"Okay, okay beautiful my butt. Come on we're gonna be late." He laughed and excused yourselves to your parents.

As you both got into the car, your mouth made an 'o' shape seeing how classy it is. "Is this your car, Kangwoo?" You asked him.

He fixed his seat belt before he turned to you with a smile, "It's my hyung's. I told him that I have a date for prom so he let me borrow this for awhile." You nodded and greeted the driver in front. The engine started and you're on your way to school for prom.

"Ah, hyung can you please turn on the radio?" Kangwoo said, trying to shoo the deafening silence between you two. You took a glance at him before you sighed, then after a moment, you felt a poke on your shoulder and before you could ask what, he pulled something out from his coat and gave it to you.

"What is this?" You asked as you held on a piece of paper.

"Someone wants me to give this to you," Kangwoo replied and you have that strong feeling that you know that someone.

"Jeon Jungkook." You spoke as a matter of fact.

"Hmm yeah, sort of." He sneered but you suddenly gave it back to him. "Hey, what's the matter??" He stammered.

"I don't want to read that." You said coldly while crossing your arms. You were aware that you're acting like an upset girlfriend even if you're just a best friend.

"Aigoo." Kangwoo scratched his head as he looked at you. "What am I going to do with you guys. He asked me to give this to you." He said and gave the paper to you again, but same as earlier you threw it back at him. "I feel Jaesuk and I are trying to sort things out between you guys." He added.

"You don't have to sort out things between me and Jungkook, we are just best friends." You snapped, you knew it was wrong to react like that but you've had enough. "If he wants to explain something then he should make an effort explaining it to me... personally."

Kangwoo stared at you for a moment and was obviously speechless from what you say until he regained his mind and spoke again. "Did I mention that you're pretty tonight?"

Sooner, you arrived at school and you can see everyone wearing gowns and you looked at yourself only wearing a dress. Kangwoo was about to lead you inside but you pulled him to a stop, "Kangwoo-ya, do I look different? Everyone's wearing gowns except me."

"Did I mention I wear a tux?" He grinned which you quickly felt comfortable.

"Aigoo, what should I do without you?" You pinched his cheek and gave it a gentle slap before you hooked your arm with his. "Let's go." You said in a much-excited voice but deep inside you're nervous about what might happen tonight.

The hall was full of people already and you can feel the party mood around. Your two best friends greeted you in an excited manner that they almost tore your dress away because it's their first time seeing you wearing that.

"OMG Park Haesoo, I can't believe it," Ahreum said as she adores everything in you. "Omo, you look like a princess!"

"Shut up Ahreum." You blushed, "I feel weird right now." You said as you hugged yourself then Kangwoo suddenly excused himself from finding you both a table.

"Oh, my Kangwoo is so handsome tonight. What do you think?" Ahreum spazzed and both you and Chanmi shot her a look.

"Ahreum are you okay?" You asked.

"I'm super fine." She grinned giving you a two thumbs up.

"Her boyfriend broke up with her that's why she's fine." Chanmi added making Ahreum stop and lose her smile all of the sudden.

"Eff, really?! Where is he?" You exclaimed as you started to look for Ahreum's ex-boyfriend in the dancing crowd when someone arrived poking Chanmi's shoulder.

"Oh? Jungkook you're here." Chanmi chimed, obviously making a tone for you to look at her. Your heart skipped a beat when you saw Jungkook, not only you who stopped but him as well. You heard your heart starts to beat fast after it felt dead for a moment, that in a second later it was banging on your ribcage.

"Hello? Down to Earth with you two." Chanmi sang waving her hands to both of you. "Ya, Jungkook if you don't know her, she's Park Haesoo, right now she's wearing a dress. Know her? She's our best friend." She said with a little bit of sarcasm. She was with Jungkook for almost an hour now and the boy never talked to her.

"Yes, I know.. I know." Jungkook replied, stuttering with his words. He looked undeniably freaking handsome tonight. His hair being fixed neatly and everything, the posture, the face, the body, the tux, the tie and Jungkook himself, you can't help but be more attracted to him.

"Err, I'm tired. I'll look for a seat first." You chimed and went to excuse yourself. You don't want to be there. You don't want to be in the place where Jungkook is there. You left and went to look for Kangwoo instead. You were sure that he already found a seat for you, but soon as you roamed around the hall, you find a lot of tables and seats empty. You frowned thinking Kangwoo lied to you, yet you have no choice but to take one of the seats because wearing heels is so tiring for the first timer. You suddenly thought how Ahreum and Chanmi managed to wear such things when you go out.

You watch as the people dance in the center, getting tired of sitting you decided to go to the food table and get something to eat. Then there you met Jaesuk, looking handsome than ever.

"Yo wassup Haesoo?" He said with a loud voice but nobody cared if he was shouting or what because the music was too loud. You just nodded, since you already stuffed your mouth with food.

"So, have you talked to him?" He asked and he meant was Jungkook. You swallowed the food before you spoke.

"We have nothing to talk about." You replied with a slight frown.

"If I were you I'll tell him the truth before it's too late." He smirked, whispering in your ear. You felt chills coming down from your spine making you shiver and automatically hit Jaesuk on the head. "Oww!" He winced. "What was that for??"

"Is there something I don't know about myself that you do?" You snapped, "Argh, you're so annoying!" You added and grumpily walked away.

As you near your table, the music stopped making everyone's attention turned to the stage including you and there was Jungkook standing on the stage with holding a mic.

"Hey, I'm Jeon Jungkook from class 2-A. Good evening. I'll be singing this song for the most special person in my life.. first love? This is for you." He said making everyone giggle, especially girls. You won't deny that he's pretty popular with girls as well, with that face who would dare not to like him? Even if you, who is his best friend fell for him. Soon as he starts to sing, you felt stiff when you felt that it was you he was singing to but you shook your head, shaking that thought off. How could it be you anyways?

You remained on your ground not even daring to move a muscle as he sings. You felt like your heart being struck as he sang the song- the song which you both actually sung when you two were still strangers to each other.

"Really.." You scoffed to yourself as you heard the lyrics impossible yet you felt your eyes burn that you started to walk out from the crowd heading to your table.

"Stupid, why are you like this Haesoo? Stop this already! Stop this farking heart of yours!" You were scolding yourself mentally as you tried not to tear up from the thought of you are never gonna be loved back by him the way you love him.

You didn't notice that song was done and everyone went back to partying, the center became crowded and the upbeat party music came to life again. You were there in the corner with your head down, trying to stop your heart from you breaking into pieces.

"Haesoo-a.." You looked up to see Kangwoo. "I'm so sorry I was looking everywhere for you." He said and you just shook your head telling him that it was okay.

"Haesoo are you okay?" He asked, placing a hand on your shoulder.

"I'm fine Kangwoo." You faked a smile.

"Hmm, do you want to dance?" He asked but he was already pulling you up from your seat. You said 'no' several times but it was too late, he already dragged you on the dance floor but you accidentally bumped into someone causing for you to lose hold of Kangwoo's hand and lost him in the crowd.

"Kangwoo-ya... Kangwoo.." You tried to call his name but it was no use, lots of people around, bumping into you as they dance wildly to the beat. You suddenly thought of this scene same in the movies you've watched, like the girl got lost in the crowd, being bumped by people and suddenly bumped into someone who is a handsome guy. You scoffed, thinking that scene is for mature people, for the hopeless romantics.

You gave up finding Kangwoo in the crowd and was about to squeeze your way out when the song suddenly changed into a sweet mellow song. You heard most of the people groaned in frustration and went back to their seats and you alone was left in the center together with some couple who remained dancing sweetly. You felt awkward even though no one was looking at you. You were about to walk away from that awkward space when someone called your name. You stopped and turned to see Jungkook walking towards you. You start to feel your heart beat fast again and you noticed that the world around you suddenly went to blur and only Jungkook you can see clearly.

"Park Haesoo.." He started, trying to gather his courage to ask you. "Can I have this dance?" He asked you. You looked around but you don't know whom you are looking for. "Haesoo.."

"Can I?" He asked and for the first time, he was nervous to touch you. He was having a hard time trying to hold your hand or hold your waist, you noticed it and decided to help him instead.

"What are you nervous about?" You asked as you placed your arms around his neck. You both started to dance- well awkwardly.

"I'm not nervous." He replied, looking straight into your eyes. You felt awkward and your cheeks burned hard. "Are you still mad at me?" He asked he was like a child asking his mother whether she is mad or not and you realized that the anger you felt for him went gone. You wanted to say something but you're too flushed in everything right now, so instead of saying something you just pulled him into a tight embrace. Now there's no space between you already. It's really weird but you don't care. You just do what your heart wants you to do.
