this is a flashback chapter for that 'kiss' thing. sorry if it's floppy
-

going on a date with park woojin is one thing ahn hyungseob could never decipher.

though, he wasn't even sure if it's even called a 'date'. is it? it's just a friendly gesture that best friends do, watch movies together while clinging to each other's arms like an idiot. it's... normal, right? nevertheless, he enjoyed whatever he had with him, and he didn't regret the decision of not denying his offer.

both the boys watched 'the mummy' (though hyungseob was completely disagreeing of the idea but woojin dragged him into the theater anyway). hyungseob didn't really pay attention to the movie, but he noticed that woojin was clearly having a good time so he didn't want to ruin it.

besides, looking at the corner of woojin's lips twitching every time he smiles or his mouth forming an 'o' every time there's a scary scene is already enough for hyungseob to convince himself that the movie was the best 2 hours of his life.

the boys went out of the cinema, with woojin jumping around at how amazing the movie was (strange to see as it's usually hyungseob who's energetic at this kind of a day) and clinging to hyungseob as they walked around the mall.

"that looks like you." hyungseob pointed at a statue of a mouse with glasses and crooked teeth.

woojin pouted (in a playful sort of way) and hit him on the arm. "i hate you."

hyungseob grinned. "i love you too."

but before woojin could hear what hyungseob said, he was too busy sprinting to the nmd store across from where they're standing at.

woojin noticed that hyungseob became quieter by the night. they had an affordable lunch at kfc (as they used up all their money on the movie tickets and woojin was not up to taking up his credit card) and woojin noticed that hyungseob didn't look that happy anymore, he looked as if something was bothering him. not wanting anything to burden him, woojin decided that it'll be best for him to ask him on the way home.

"why do you look so stressed?" woojin asked cooly, his eyes transfixed to the older boy.

"i'm fine."

"... are you still thinking about the finals?"

hyungseob paused. he looked up and stared at woojin. it that angle, woojin immediately realize that the boy already had teary eyes ever since they left the mall. his gaze softened. ".. yes."

"hyungseob, you're being ridiculous."

"of course i'm thinking about it!"

"why are you stressing about something you can't do anything of anymore?"

"because.. because i'm afraid." hyungseob looked down again, now his face redder than before.

woojin could only wheeze. "tell me. tell what are you so afraid of."

hyungseob bit his lips. "my ranks."

"your ranks increased a lot from last week, there's nothing to worry about."

"the dance!"

"jonghyun-hyung said you have improved well and that he have seen a lot from you. and he never lies."

"disappointing my dongsaengs and jung jung-ssi if i'll fail."

"i'm sure they're already proud of you. euiwoong is a perfect example."

hyungseob shook his head, not sure as to why this boy was still trying to keep him 'motivated'. "god, i still lack the skills!"

woojin laughed. "how many times have we discussed about this? hyungseob, you're one of the most talented person i have ever met."

hyungseob stared at him in disbelief. "most talented? boy, how are you able to say that when you've met people like samuel, ong, jaehwan, taehyun, and all the other 100 trainees that are more deserving to debut than me?"

"seobie, your definition of 'talented' is down so narrow. there's a lot of ways to be talented."

hyungseob leered. "yeah, and like that's how it could make me feel better."

"because of your talents, national producers trust you to be apart of the top 20."

"because of my idiotic personality."

"no, because they know how hardworking and consistent you are. that doesn't look all 'cool and unique' as the way you would say it, but it is incredible for the ones who see you. that is your talent, a trademark one of the other trainees could bother to steal away from you." woojin put his hand on the boy's arm. "so don't stress out. you're fine now, right?"

though hyungseob was touched by the boy's speech, he was still hesitant of himself. "i don't know, okay?" hyungseob's voice was soft, but something about him just felt so stern. "i don't want to think about it, but it happens. it's like i try to have something else to distract my mind from it but i just can't. even that damn movie can't. hell, even you can't—"

before hyungseob could continue his argument, woojin leaned forward the boy and gave him a kiss on the lips. it was short, surprising, yet a feeling hyungseob wants to feel over and over again.

hyungseob was now as fragile as glass, his body slowly lighten, woojin's pair of gentle hands held him along. he felt vulnerable yet giddy at the same thing. in a fast pace, woojin broke the kiss (as if he was teasing him) and gave him a very whimsical smirk. "there. see? i gave you a distraction."

the red haired boy slowly went down the porch without hyungseob's permission. "goodnight ahn hyungseob." he left before the startled boy could even respond.

i feel like this book is going to be in a semi-hiatus soon but I'll try my best to update!! (it's just the first week of school & i'm alrdy dying)
