hyungseob has never heard anything from woojin since then, and so vice versa.
it was like a bet between as to who would dare to call first, and they know it is something they both don't have the guts to do.
hyungseob gazing at his screen, solemnly thinking whether or not to press the call button. he decides not to because he believes that woojin was too busy preparing for his debut.
and so goes for woojin. he was having trouble voicing out a sentence without stuttering, let alone having a proper conversation with hyungseob. he also kept in mind that hyungseob probably still needs more time (he irrevocably believes that it is him who needs time though, and practice). besides, he's seen him in television these few days, and it's no doubt that yuehua had clearly made use of his striking popularity, not that woojin's complaining.
hyungseob's seems to be doing fine, then what made him feel like something's wrong?
when hyungseob walked home from school, he passed the regular billboard of him that his fans made during the produce days. he was surprised that it was actually still there and no one bothered to change it. of course, it brought unforgettable memories that he missed. the sight of this was great and all, but it was not the main reason as to why he wanted to go to this specific subway station.
it was because of the small cafe at the corner of the hall that he hasn't gone to for more than a month now.
it was the cafe he and jihoon used to go during their produce days. frankly, it is also the cafe where woojin forgot about his phone, and hyungseob idiotically tried to spam him because he seems so fondly quiet for someone who has lost his phone. all of those memories were spent together with his friends,
and now it was only him alone.
hyungseob walked to the counter where he meets a young woman who is a new worker there. the woman apologizes him courteously. "i'm sorry sir, but sadly we do not take customers at his time as someone has already booked the place—"
"ah, is it the nice boy?" a voice interrupted from the back. turns out it's the old woman who apparently is the owner of the shop. hyungseob has gone to this place so frequently that the old woman doesn't even have to think twice to know who he is. "come in, come in! it's been a while since you've gotten here!"
hyungseob bows. "ah, but she told me—"
"that doesn't matter now, does it? i'm sure they won't mind a bit of company." the woman insisted. hyungseob only nodded and went in, a mere smell of coffee greeting him.
he orders his personal favourite; hot choco and a dash of macaroons. it might not be the best dish of the shop (it specializes mostly on fancy frostings and pretty cocktails) but somehow it still sticks on him. the glazing taste of macaroons once you got it into your mouth, all topped over with the sweetness of hot choco.
hyungseob didn't get to ask who were these 'people' who booked a small shop in a crowded subway station.
as he waited (while scrolling through Instagram just to see kenta-hyung spamming too many snapgrams), he heard loud chatters coming from the entrance of the shop, it must be the ones who reserved the shop. he tried not to think about it too much; it doesn't really matter, right?
that was until he think might as well hear the signature shriek of lee daehwi coming from outside.
