Flora's POV

Call me a cliche but it was quieter without him. Quieter in general and quieter in my mind where he was supposed to be somewhere in there giving little remarks that somehow stay there for me to think about later on. However, the remarks have been replaced with a sad, dark expression. Something that I never want to think about, but can't help but do that. It's a hard life.

Surprisingly, his popularity and reputation hasn't dissapeared even a little. He's still one of the most popular people because of the situation concering his injuries. I don't even think he's supposed to be on crutches anymore, but here he is limping along with his girlfriend to classes whilst being crowded like always.

"You still need to tell me what happened between you and him the other day you know"

The comment made me startle and turn my head in the direction of the voice. My closest friend Brooke was standing there against the lockers with a blank expression on her pretty face. Her auburn hair was tied up into a lazy bun with strands framing her shaped face and her forest green eyes were staring directly at me.

"What's there to tell?" I replied with raised eyebrows. Honestly, I was just wishing she would take a hint and drop the subject. I don't need any reminding of what I did to worsen my guilt.

"Oh I don't know, the fact that everyone clearly saw how much you hurt his feelings when all he did was come up to you and say hi. And maybe also the fact that you didn't tell me you knew him. It looks like he's fond of you so why did you say those things to him?"

Knowing Brooke, she probably knew that I didn't want to talk about it, but continued anyway just to irritate me. She's a curious one.

"Look, you know I love you but I don't really want to talk about it. Is that okay?"

Please please PLEASE just drop it now.

"Alright fine, but you should know that ever since your little breakout, people have been looking at you as if you were a disgusting piece of trash covered with smelly, filthy pairs of underwear. No offence," she said plainly.

"Wow, I'm so lucky to have a friend like you Brooke. Love you too."

Sarcasm. It's one of the only things I like doing. I'm serious.

"I know, but it's best if you know the truth," Brooke said honestly.

I reacted by not saying anything and continued to stare at nothing. I guess she's won this arguement. Once again.

"What's your next class babe?"

I spun my head around and prayed for God that it wouldn't be who I thought it would be. My eyes saw the familiar limping figure with the same hair, eyes and sluggish uniform. The only thing that has been different for a while is the second clinging figure next to him. I think her name was Jade? She was the girl who first led Charlie away from me after the incident. Ever since, she has been clinging on to him like her life depended on it. The fact that she called him 'babe' led everyone to believe that they're going out. Good for her.

"Uhh, maths with Mr Simmons," the familiar smooth voice replied. Quite plainly if you ask me.

I didn't want or care to see anymore so I turned back to my locker and grabbed everything I needed for the next lesson. Brooke however had other ideas.

"Hey Charlie!"

Female dog. Female dog. Female dog. Why was I her friend again?

"Yeah?" he asked. No doubt that he is confused and maybe creeped out that a random girl is calling him.
