"Moonsong!"

My body contracted involuntarily, wings flaring in surprise. "What?" I snapped, trying to cover up my spasm.

"You're not paying attention are you." Tigermoth narrowed her eyes at me, and I grinned. "Maybe." I said, poking her in the shoulder. "So?"

"Don't you remember? You finally get to start your Morpher lessons!" Tigermoth was practically dancing around the room in her excitement. "Light of the sun, I'm so excited for you!"

"You're probably more excited about this than I am." I said dryly. "I mean, you get one on one lessons with the queen, Mo! The only other Morpher in the kingdom!" Tigermoth sighed dreamily, and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. "How are you not excited?"

"I've had enough of my mother for a long, long time." I got up, stretching my back. "We'd better go, before she yells at me again."

"And who's fault would that be?" Tigermoth shot me a snooty look before running out the door.

"Yours!" I yelled back at her before I turned back to the mirror on my wall. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath, and let it out. "You can do this. Just don't mess up, and you'll do fine." I murmured, grabbing a circlet of gold from my bedside table. "Moooooonsong..." Tigermoth's voice floated from down the hall as I placed the circlet on my head. "I'm coming!" I called back crossly as I stole one last glance at the mirror before heading out.

"One on one Morpher lessons with my mother. How bad can it be?"
