Lauren's pov
I'm practically still parked on her drive way, just examining the house's figure and looking for any sign of her boyfriend, Troy. My fingers tapping along nervously on top of the steering wheel, my breath hitched when a sudden knock came from my window.
The man behind the glass had a tired face, his eyes drooped and his breath smelled like pure alcohol. "Can I help you?" My words came out harsher than I thought it would to the man.
"You can help yourself and get the hell out of here," his bitter breath making its way to my nostrils. I rolled up my window and backed out not wanting to cause more trouble that I already have.
"Asshole."
I scrunched my nose and disgust once I reached the end of the block, though I shouldn't be mad, I was lingering on his property. Nonetheless, I still have to go back to Ally's friends.
"Hey, you're back!" The two girls greeted me, I shut the door and laid my back against it, and took a deep breath before returning a smile towards the girls.
"So, what are we doing now?" I questioned, setting the keys back on the hook and walking slowly to my previous side on Normani's couch.
"After we finish up this movie, Dinah and I wanted to know a little bit more about you, if you're comfortable with us?"
I thought about that for moment. She's right, they both don't know much about me besides the fact that I'm Ally's friend from therapy.

But there are limits. I am not an open book that people can read whatever they want to know. I'm kept to myself at the most part, I'm labeled as an 'introvert' to most people at first glance. I just don't open up to them, they never understand anything I went thorough.

"Sure, what do you guys wanna know?" I crossed my legs as soon as the longest conversation about myself I'll ever hold was about to begin."Where were you born?" Normani questioned. I didn't hesitate to answer this simple question. "I'm from Miami, Florida." The two girls nodded simultaneously. "What made you come all the way over here to Texas..Just asking." Dinah, the tall blonde I assumed, she was fit; a pretty face, sitting next to Normani closely while her head laid on Dinah's shoulder.
"I-I really don't- well, I felt like I needed a new start. Of course I loved my hometown, but I don't know, I heard a lot of cool things around this area," I started to ramble on about why I chose here, and surprisingly the two seemed intrigued, listening and nodding instead of just waiting for me to finish my sentence, then going on about themselves off topic.

12:23 am"Really? That's amazing, Lauren! Did you do these yourself, 'cause they look really impressive. Especially this, this one is really good!" Dinah skimmed through my gallery on my phone and there were pictures in Miami and my way to Texas, along with the little sketches I do during my free time.
I blushed lightly with all the positive comments I was getting from Normani and Dinah. "Thank you so much, I hardly get to talk about my hobbies, guys. It does mean a lot to me."
Smiles spread across each other's faces and we ended talking most of the night. We exchanged numbers and bid each other farewells before I headed back to my apartment.
By the time I finally got dropped of by Normani, it was already 3 in the morning. We didn't mean to be up this late, but we had all sorts of conversations for the past hours.
