Jackson's POV
"Well, you've improved. Did you practice all by yourself?" I ask Alicia when we just finished our lines.
It went well, to be honest. Now, I don't need to worry that I'd be staying in acting class for another year.
"Not really, I just think that I need to be more serious and catch up because the deadline is getting closer and closer." she says, putting down the script to my bed.
It went silent for a while, I can feel the awkwardness between us, Alicia looks like she's about to say something, and I know that something must be about her assuring me that she's gonna help me.
I sigh, "Did Mark know that you're in my room?" quickly find another topic before she gets into that topic.
She nodded her head, "of course he knows, you think I'd go sneaking around behind him at his house?" okay, that sounds stupid.
"Did he let you?" I ask her again, it's just kinda weird that Mark lets Alicia to go to my room when he clearly knows that there would be only two of us and he clearly knows that last time I was left alone with Alicia, I kissed her.
Alicia chuckles when she heard my question, "you know him, but I told him that it's for the project."
I nodded my head and there's another silent between us.
After what felt like a long time, I finally opened my mouth but looks ljke Alicia did the same.
"You know-"
"Let me-"
We look at each other for a while, clearly because we're both didn't expect that. The timing makes it more awkward.
I clear my throat and say, "you first." Letting her to talk first.
Alicia sighs, "let me help you" she says, staring at me with her pleading eyes.
"I don't know about that." I say.
As much as I want to runaway from this topic, I can't, because it keeps chasing me.
"Why can't you let me help you?" she asks me, feeling frustrated.
"It's not that I can't, it's just, I don't know, I'm not sure." I keep looking at the ground, not meeting her eyes.
"You don't trust me." she says with a low voice, almost like a whisper, but I can still hear her.
"How do you know?" I ask.
"Because if you trust me, you'll let me help you." she replies.
"I don't know, Ali. I really don't know." I say, cupping my face.
"You know, sooner or later, you should tell Mark about what truly happened at that night, right? I just want to help you." she says.
She got a point.
"Why should I let you help me? I don't even know how are you going to help me."
"Well, for starters, this is me trying to help you. Telling you that everything's going to be okay, assuring you that everything's going to be alright even when you're going to tell them the truth."
Okay, now I disagree.
"You think they are going to forgive me if they find out that I was with Jess that night? You think that they are going to forgive me after what I did? After I left Jess?"
