Moving

"Kagome, we're leaving any minute! Hurry and come downstairs, young lady!" My mother's voice sure sounded strict and impatient, and all because she thought I was taking way too long, talking with my friends over the phone to say good bye.

"I know! Just a minute, Mom!" I angrily responded before hanging up the phone, and rolling my  eyes at what must be my  mother's most stupid decision yet. I never really understood why she wanted us to move so badly. I've lived here my whole life, and I've never wanted to leave to go live somewhere else. Especially if it meant that I had to leave my school, and most of all, my friends... There was no telling how my new school would be like. According to my mom, if I remember correctly, I would start school next week.

This summer had to be one of the worst ones I've ever had. And it's all because my girlfriend... No, make that my ex-girlfriend, broke up with me for no reason at all. The last thing I'd wanted, was to go back to school, cause it'd mean I had to see her every day in class. Right now, I'd much rather skip school the first couple weeks. It's not like I'd get in trouble with anybody but the teachers, cause I live on my own, anyway. There'd be no one to scold me, so I could do whatever I wanted, pretty much. Around school, I'm never known as, or called by my name (Inuyasha). Half breed is the most common nickname. Heck, even Kikyou (which is the name of my ex) called me by that name before we started dating. I've spent most of the summer inside but cause I rarely leave the house, I try going on a walk sometimes. Today was one of those days.

                                                                             Kagome's P.O.V.

While we were driving through the city on our way to our new home, I spent most of that time on my phone, browsing old photos; most of them were of my friends and me. I had started to miss them so much already. I didn't want to talk to anyone, especially not my brother, Souta at the moment, because whatever I said would sound negative, and I'd just be scolded by my grandpa for it, and be told to cheer up. Which was the least thing I wanted to do. Sighing deeply, I leaned my elbow against the car window and looked out. "We must be getting close to our new house." I yawned. "It's all so different from Tokyo."
My mother laughed and smiled at me. "I suppose it is. But it's quieter here, and less crowded. Almost like living in a village."

Personally, I thought it looked like a pretty boring place. At least until we drove past a very strange boy. His clothes were normal, a red T-shirt that looked like it was a bit too big for him, and grey shorts, but what really caught my attention, were the color of his eyes and hair. Even more so, his ears. They weren't human ears at all! I couldn't help but stare in awe at the boy. He looked to be around my age...

My ears perked up and I moved out of the way as a car drove past me. I noticed there was a girl in the back seat, staring at me. Puzzled, I stared back at her. She had dark brown eyes and raven black hair. She reminded me so much of Kikyou, but I knew it wasn't her. As they kept driving, I noticed she still didn't stop looking at me. But I shrugged it off, and kept walking.

The first chapter was a bit short, I know. But I'll try to make the other chapters of this at least a bit longer. But even so, I am proud of this fanfic, and I hope you'll like it, and that you'll like to keep reading. ^-^
