Narrator's P.O.V
"Hurry up, Inuyasha!" Kagome complained, arriving at her new home with the half demon anxiously following behind her, but keeping his distance from her, looking this way and that. In InuYasha's mind was total chaos, though to him it had always seemed better to simply bottle those feelings up inside of his own heart.
Just outside the entrance of the Higurashi residents, Souta was seen eagerly kicking a soccer ball around, yet to notice the twosome that were slowly approaching. "We- I mean, I'm home," the older Higurashi sibling corrected herself at the last second, cheeks flushing. Her younger brother cheered as he layed eyes on the strange looking boy by his sister's side.
"You must be Kagome's boyfriend?" the younger boy interrogated, bombarding InuYasha with one question after another, one of which were about his name. "Sis never told us your name," Souta explained.
"...It's InuYasha," the half demon who had kept quiet ever since they got to the Higurashi house, eventually responded, averting his gaze. It was the only question he actually answered, as he didn't trust Souta well enough to tell him about his past. He hadn't come to trust Kagome yet either, but sooner or later, she's bound to ask, and get nothing but the truth from him. And as her boyfriend what choice did he really have, except to be honest with her, have trust in her?
Though the incident that cost both his parents' lives transpired in the earliest years of his life, it was as if he had just received the distressing news. Nobody had been there to comfort him, he'd felt abandoned ever since. He'd been so caught up in his own trail of thought that he didn't notice he'd already been introduced to the adults of this particular household. Kagome's mother smiled widely as her grandfather eyed him rather cautiously. "Tell me your name, young man," the former shrinekepeer demanded but before InuYasha got the chance to reply, Souta answered for him. "His name's InuYasha!" and added, "Isn't he so cool!"
Scratching his silver hair in slight embarrasment, an awkward sounding chuckle escaped his mouth.
Mrs. Higurashi and InuYasha politely nodded, greeting each other that way,
"It's very nice to meet you, InuYasha."
"You, too..." InuYasha replied politely yet quietly, being prohibited to staying in the hallway a second longer. Ushering the young man inside, Mrs. Higurashi informed that dinner would be ready any minute.
