Little did they know that someone was watching them at that very moment... Someone whose only goal was to ruin their relationship....
Narrator's P.O.V.
The next day started off with religion with Mr. Miroku. Inuyasha liked Miroku, because he was the only teacher at the entire school who didn't treat him unfairly, just because of who he is. He'd often talked to him, just the two of them after class last semester. To Inuyasha, Mr. Miroku had been like a friend, in many ways.
"Good morning, class!" He smiled. He was rarely mad at anyone, and was less strict than the other teachers and other employees. He pulled out a notebook to take attendance. "Is Inuyasha here?" As a response, the male half demon raised his hand, muttering, "Yeah, yeah..." causing the rest of the class to snicker. Everyone except Kagome.
"Kagome Higurashi?" Miroku continued.
"Here!" Kagome raised her hand, receiving a smile from their teacher, and as he continued his attendance check, Kagome noticed that he looked to be younger than the other teachers? Her guess was that he was probably in his twenties. "Now, I want all of you to turn to page 10 in your text books, read the summary, and discuss with your partners afterwards. Okay? Have any questions, please tell me."
As if by coincidence, Inuyasha and Kagome had been placed next to each other again. And although he didn't seem to be too serious about the task they were given, Inuyasha wasn't complaining too much, or misbehaving at all.
Neither of them had noticed Kikyou watching them the other day. Kikyou was enraged. Kagome couldn't be trusted. Nor could her ex boyfriend. She'd no choice but to warn her about the situation, if she were to stop Inuyasha from falling in love with the new girl...
Kagome's P.O.V.
It's been months, and I'm still having trouble getting around school. Talk about irritatiting! I kept my head down as I rushed down the hallways on my way to my final class that day: Arts and crafts with Mr. Totosai. The school was huge, and the arts and crafts room was located at the other side of the school, away from all the other classrooms. I knew I'd be in trouble for coming late at this time of the school year, because most people would expect everyone to know how to get to the different classrooms by now. "And here I tried to think positively!" I muttered in an annoyed tone to myself. I thought I heard a chuckle nearby. I lifted my head just enough to look around the halls, but I saw no trace of anyone else. "Jeez, I'd no idea that this school could be so creepy..." I said aloud. And the chuckle returned.
"Are you really that foolish, Kagome?" I recognized that voice. There was no mistake! Kikyou was standing in front of me, or rather she was looking down at me. Her expression was no different from when we had first met. I sighed and tried to make my way past her. "I'm sorry, miss Kikyou, but I've got to get to class. The arts and crafts room is this way, isn't it?"
"Wait!" Kikyou's voice was stern and cold.
"I told you, I have to get to class...!"
"Kagome!" She half yelled, and I quickly stopped. I hated her ways of trying to scare me, or boss me around, like she was the teacher. "I thought I told you before, that Inuyasha is my boyfriend. I'm sure I don't have to remind you about the rest of our earlier conversation. But I know what happened yesterday."
I felt a chill down my spine and my eyes widened and started to fill with tears as Kikyou walked past me, making sure to push me so I nearly tripped in the empty hallway. Not only was I sad. I was downright angry. I knew what she was trying to do, but I refused her to control my life and bringing me down. What surprised me the most, was her last sentence before she'd walked off. How in the world could she know that Inuyasha just dropped by for a visit at my house? Even if we did meet, I didn't even like him...
