Kagome's P.O.V.

Returning home that night after my meeting with InuYasha, I felt like the happiest, luckiest girl in the whole world. Practically dancing down the hallway and into the kitchen to grab a nightsnack before heading to bed, I was met by my mother's smiling face. "Welcome home, Kagome.?" My mother looked at me curiously, studying my face and actions. "Did something good happen in the park?" I haven't told her about InuYasha yet, but I figured now was as good a time as any other to tell her about my new friend- Err...make that boyfriend. Reminding myself of his confession, I blushed, staring down at my feet. "Uh, Yeah...I..." those were the only words I could get out as I, in a failed attempt, thought of how exactly to make the announcement that I was no longer single.

My mother's mouth dropped open when I mentioned InuYasha. Still, I was happy to inform that she still looked happy. "Oh, my! Congratulations, Kagome! I'm so proud of you, dear...I never doubted that you'd make new friends..." She wrapped her arms around me in a loving hug, gently smiling down at me. "You should really introduce us to this young man. I can't wait to meet him!"

"A guy?!" Souta chimed in, peeking his tired looking face into the kitchen. I almost jumped out of my skin! My face was heating up as I scowled at my nosy little brother. "Is he your boyfriend or what? What's his name?"

"If you're Lucky, maybe you'll get to meet him...Maybe."

"Sis has got a boyfriend, sis has got a boyfriend!" Souta sang, laughing and practically dancing around the kitchen before my mother finally interrupted him. "It's getting late Souta. Off to bed you go, young man. You do have school tomorrow, and so does your sister." Stating the obvious, she winked at me as she left the kitchen with Souta.

Man...Was that nerve wracking or what? I'd just made it back home again after meeting Kagome at the park. It went a lot better than I thought...Go figure. But positive thinking was one of those things that didn't come naturally to me. "I owe Miroku one for this," I muttered, having to remind myself that this was all thanks to my teacher and best friend. I turned on my phone and saw that I'd just received a message. It was from Kagome... I opened her message, reading through it first once. Then again, and over again. I had to make sure I wasn't dreaming, or reading wrong. Her message read:

After our meeting tonight, I told my family about you. And now...well, to put it simple, they want to meet you. So, if you don't have any other plans, is tomorrow after school working for you?

Meeting Kagome's family, huh? Not too bad of an idea... Great, I thought, with the slightest grin on my face as I read Kagome's message again. I was quick to reply. Yeah, sure. I texted back, and pressed send.

At school the day after, whenever I saw Kagome in class or around school in general, she was smiling and nearly skipping down the hallway and even humming to herself. I rolled my eyes, wondering if she'd seen my text this morning, and that's what made her so overly excited and happy. I admired her positive attitude towards everyone around school. "So, what's got you so excited?" I asked curiously as I sat down at my seat next to hers, not bothering to listen to Kaede's boring lecture.

InuYasha and Kagome... I thought as much. I had a premonition the first time I had laid eyes on Kagome. She'd shown such kindness to everyone around her like no other student. Such a strange young girl, that Kagome... I watched the two of them closely, noticing her quietly scolding him for disturbing my class. Laughing, I put my hand up in protest, to reassure my new student. "No need to worry, Kagome," I told her before turning my attention back to the rest of the class.
