Chapter One

Kristen's POV

Today I've been feeling better than I have in a long time and I was thinking about going to the beach. "I'll ask Jack what he thinks." I got up and went to his room. "Jacky?" I pushed his door. "Come in mom." "Alright." "Hey baby." "Hey mom what's up?" "Nothing, I was thinking." "About what?" "A trip to the beach, wanna go?" "You're feeling better?" "Yeah, today's a good day for me baby." "Good I'm glad, hopefully there are more to come." He smiled. "Yeah, I know there are." I felt awful that my issues were weighing so heavily on Jack. It seems like after Dalton, my husband died I made a series of poor decisions that affected him. I'm glad that he is so strong and was able to withstand that but today is a new day and he doesn't have to worry about me anymore. I'm going to get my life together and we're going to move forward. "Mom?" He said breaking my train of thought. "Yeah?" "You were somewhere else." "I was just thinking about how proud of you I am." "Really?" "Yes honey. I just wanted to thank you for being so strong when mom couldn't. I promise from now on you won't have to be anymore." "I know losing dad was hard and I know that I have to step up where he can't." "Not anymore baby, you just have to be a happy kid.. That's all I want from you alright?" "Mom." He just looked at me. "I mean you still have to take out the trash." I smirked and he started laughing. "Ok baby?" "Yeah but if you need me, lean on me." "And you lean on mom too ok?" "Ok." He hugged me. "So are we on for the beach?" "Yeah!!" He took his shirt off and I started laughing. "Alright I'll get your sister ready." "Ok." I got up and went to my daughters room. "Baby." I whispered and saw that she was already standing up in her crib. "Hi my baby." She started giggling. "What are you doing?" I picked her up and she immediately wanted to get down. "Ready to do some walking are we?" I put her down and she walked to the door. "Who told you to know how to walk?" She went out of the door so I followed her. "Where are we going?" She went to Jack's room. "Hey!!" He picked her up and kissed her cheeks. While they were playing I went and packed up the truck. When I finished I had Jack put Cassie in the truck. Right before I got in my friend Shelby pulled in and parked. "Hey baby!!" She said getting out of her truck. "Hey we're going to the beach, coming?" "Yes I just have to stop and get the kids and some stuff." "Alright come on." "Ok." We followed her to her house and she got her kids and packed some other stuff. When she finished we headed off to the beach.

Jason's POV

The girls and I were thinking about what to do today but I was coming up with nothing. "What about the beach daddy?" Kendyl suggested. I had some time off from the tour and I wanted to spend it with my girls. "Sounds good, we're gonna go home and change into your swim suits then we can go alright." "Yes." They both smiled and we went home. The girls got changed and we headed to the beach. When we got there the girls played in the water for a while then Kendyl decided she wanted to make friends. She played with a few different kids then two women came and set their stuff up. There was three boys, two girls and two small kids from what I could see. "Keeley!!" Kendyl ran over to us. "Yeah?" "Look queen jellyfish!!" "What where?!" "Right there!!" She pointed to the ladies that just set up their stuff. "Oh my gosh!!" She just about yelled. "I know!! And her son is over there." Kendyl smirked. "Shut up." They both laughed. "Let's go over!" Kendyl suggested. "Ok but be normal." "You're the one fangirling." "Shut up." She laughed. The girls went over and started playing with the girls and the little kids so I kept an eye on them from where I was. My phone started ringing so I looked at it, not even two seconds after I looked at it kendyl was standing in front of me. "Daddy no phone today." "Ok." I put the phone down and looked at her. "What's up?" "Um.. They have candy.. And.. And ms Shelby said we can have some if you say yes.." She was looking back and forth at me and the ladies. "But you have candy." "Yeah but they have the good kind." She was looking over there so I glanced over. One of the ladies was handing out freeze pops. "Daddy she's gonna give away all the red ones! Come on!" She whined and started pulling on my arm. "Ok.. Ok." I got up and we headed over to the ladies, while we were walking over the lady holding one of the little kids got up and went over to the water. "Ms Shelby he said yes!" She stood up and looked at me. "Hi I am Shelby." "Jason nice to meet you." "You as well, is it alright for your girls to have some?" I looked at the girls and they were staring at me. "Yeah.. Yea its fine." "Alright." "And thanks for being so nice to my girls." "Oh it's no problem." She smiled and my phone started ringing. "Excuse me.. I'll be right over there." "Alright." I walked away and answered the phone. "Hello?" "Jason what are you doing?" It was my friend Luke Bryan. "Nothing just at the beach with the girls." "Cool the boys and I were headed there." "So I'll see you when you get here." "Alright." We hung up and I watched the girls.
