Jason's POV

About an hour later I was still calling Kristen but it was going to voicemail. In the middle of me calling her I heard the doorbell. “Shit.” I got up and went and answered, it was Kristen so I let her in. “Hey I've been calling you, Jackson isn't here.” “Yeah he's with my mother.” “Really.” “Yeah, he called her I'm guessing after he left here.” She followed me to the kitchen. “You couldn't pick up the phone and tell me that?” “I would have but I don't have a phone Jason.” She took off her sunglasses and I saw the bruise around her eye that Jackson told me about. “What happened to you?” “I was robbed but that's not why I'm here.” “Ok.” I sat on a stool so she sat next to me. “When I dropped Jack off here he was pumped but just now when he called a friend of mine he was a little less than thrilled.. I just wanna know what happened?” “Well he kicked Tristan in the head.” Willie said and she looked at him. “Was that before or after you gave them the ground rules to the fight?” “Touché.” “Your son shouldn't be kicking people anyway.” Bo dottley said and she looked at him. “And you shouldn't allow children to fight for your entertainment, so that no one will be kicked. Lastly my son can kick anyone he wants when they hit him first.” She looked so innocent saying that. “You weren't here how would you know that your son didn't hit someone else first?” Kristen looked down at her watch then back at Bo. “Why did Tristan kick Jackson in the head?” “We didn't see Tristan kick Jackson but we did see Jackson kick Tristan.” “Oh so you weren't here either?” “No I was here I just didn't see what you're saying happened.” “Mhm but you were here why don't you know what happened?” “I'm telling you what I saw..” “No you were suggesting that because I wasn't here I didn't know what happened, however you were here and you still don't know what happened.” “I didn't see anything your son said went on.” I knew Bo was getting annoyed. “I'm not sure you know what you saw and that's ok.” Kristen still looked innocent. “I know what I saw.” “Are you sure?” He didn't say anything so Kristen tilted her head to the side. “Are.. You upset?” “Ok..” I said and Willie started laughing. “Yes.” She looked at me. “The fight wasn't what upset Jackson.” “Mhm.” “He got into it with Keeley.” “Why?” I exhaled. “Because she asked him if he killed someone.” “Mhm, then what?” She shook her head and looked at me. “He told her that it was any of her concern but she kept going and it pissed him off.” “You didn't stop it?” She was looking at me with an innocent look and it was making me feel awful. “I know I should have.” “But you didn't?” She looked disappointed. “No.” “Why?” I didn't say anything. “Because you wanted to know?” “Yes.” “Jason.” She said and touch my hand. “Jason you could have just asked me, I would have told you.” “It's not my business to ask about something like that.” “You're right. It's nobody's business or place to know or ask about it Jason, but I get being curious and wanting to know after those stupid ass people came over here and told you that my son was a murderer. All you had to do was ask me.” “Why didn't you just tell me?” “Because it's none of your business.” “I disagree.” Willie cut in. “Well I guess it's a good thing I'm not talking to you.” She snapped and looked at me. “Those good for nothing pieces of shit are mad because their son got his ass kicked for picking a fight with mine and me suing them afterwards. They wanted to get back at me and my son so they went digging but instead of telling the truth they are inventing lies. If you were so concerned all you had to do was ask me, Jason.” I put my head down. “Instead of worrying about what my son did, you should worry about what your daughter's boyfriend is asking her to do for his disgusting parents.” I didn't say anything. “This is really unfortunate because they were getting along so well. Have a goodnight.” She turned to leave and Keeley came into the kitchen. “Ms Kristen?” “Yeah honey.” “I'm sorry.” “You don't have a reason to be sorry baby.” Kristen hugged her. “Jack won't respond to any of my text so can you tell him I'm sorry?” “Of course honey.” She hugged her again then left.
