Chapter 1: You're back

Set the same night of the last chapter in the first book.

Camila's pov

"So we can bring her back?" Dinah asked as we all looked at each other. "I mean that's what the spell is here for, right? To bring mani back?"

"..Dinah we don't know for sure," Piper tells her looking at the spell on the table.

"What do you mean? You just said it's to bring someone back"

"Yes, but-"

"There shouldn't be any but's piper," Dinah said rushing to Piper grabbing a hold of her roughly, eyes turning from brown to blue and face going from normal to hairy in a flash, making Piper scared for her life. Everyone was speechless seeing Dinah this way, it was something unexpected.

"Dinah go outside and cool down" I ordered. Dinah stood there staring deep into Piper's eyes fangs showing. "Now!" I demanded.

"..I-i... I'm sorry" she apologized to Piper transforming back to her somewhat normal self before running out of the house.

"..." piper stood there speechless rubbing at her now red neck frightened, as demi rubbed her arms up and down trying to comfort her.

"She needs help," Ally says worried looking out the window watching as Dinah paced on the front porch.

"Ally, she's a wolf who just lost her mate who is also a wolf," Ant said to her. "What or better yet, who could offer that kind of help?"

"We need to at least give it a try," I tell them. "She's a mess"

"She's right" Lauren agreed.

"Is this happening? Are we gonna do this?" Anthony asked as we retrieved Normani's body from the ground. "We don't even know if this is really from grandpa," he says as we put her body in the back of the pickup truck. "Hell we don't even know if this will work"

"Ant! Shut up" Dinah says climbing in the back with her. "This will work, I know it will," she says looking longing at Normani's face. "She'll be back. She wouldn't leave like this" Dinah began to push Normani's hair to the side caressing her cheek.

Both Lauren and I looked to each other saying we should get back. On the drive back to the house, I looked out the window sensing someone or something in the woods lurking, but didn't know what.

"Hey" Lauren called grabbing my attention. "You ok?" She asked reaching for my hand. "You've been pretty quiet lately" she points out glancing my way then back to the road.

"Yea, sorry. I'm just-" I paused to look at the trees once again sensing something out there ".. I'm scared for Dinah," I tell instead. "What if Anthony is right?"

"We can't think as that" Lauren says. "We need to be strong for her," she says kissing our jointed hands.

The drive was pretty silent after that. Once we were back home quickly Dinah picked Normani's body up and bought her inside.

"Where do you want me to put her?" She asked holding her lifeless body in her arms.

"Um.. the couch. Put her on the couch" Piper instructed still a bit frightening. "Demi go get the spell," Piper told her.

"Here you go mama" giving her the spell demi stepped back.

"Dinah where's the necklace?" She questioned hand out. Pulling the necklace out from her jacket pocket she hesitantly handed it to her. (The picture above is Normani's necklace)

"This will work, right?" Dinah fearfully asked sitting down beside Normani. "She'll come back to me?"

"Dinah, I'm not gonna lie," Piper says, causing Dinah to meet her eyes. "I've never practised this type of magic before. But I'm sure it'll work" she assured smiling down at her. "Now I need this room cleared, so I can concentrate"
