Ally's pov

"You are truly breathtaking," Klaus tells me looking at me from across the room as he lounged in a chair. It's been two days since the blood-born kidnapped me.

Although it's been only two days it feels a lot longer than that. Klaus however has been nice, which is creepy but I'll play into it if it means I can live.

"Just to be clear, I'm too smart to be seduced by you"

"Well, that's why I like you"

"Whatever" I rolled my eyes moving to the far end of the room.

"Come get to know me," he says moving to the bed patting it for me to sit. "I dare you" he wore a smug smirk but I sat down nonetheless.

"Why? Why do any of this? Why torture and kill?" I asked him, jumping right into the questions with no hesitation.

"Well, that's simple. It's for the pure enjoyment that it brings me" he says with his irritating yet cute British accent. Though I wouldn't admit that to him.

"You're a dark person" I rolled my eyes at him and his smugness, moving towards the window looking out unable to be bothered by him anymore.

"Don't underestimate the allure of darkness. Even the purest hearts are drawn to it" looking at the window, I saw Klaus was now standing behind me looking back at me.

But the look in his eyes. He didn't have the cocky and alpha male look that he normally has. This time it looked like..sadness and pain. I guess he must've noticed because it quickly went away.

"You say that as if you were in love before" I pointed out turning to face him. Klaus didn't answer me however, he just stared. "Almost like you lost the one you cared most about"

"When you lose someone, it stays with you. Always reminding you of how easy it is to get hurt" he says swallowing hard like he was trying to forget something.

At this moment I realize how alike Klaus was to most. He was a lost, broken person who lost the love of their life.

"So, is that why you're so..you?" I timidly asked walking to him. He smirked at me.

"It's who I am" he simply said. "I was born to be this way"

"No, it's not. I'm sure you're more than that" I tell him in all honesty. It's funny because even though he and his family kidnapped me, I want to help him. Oh god, I sound like Mila. "But you're so guarded that you think you don't deserve something, so you ruin it," I say to him. "That's probably why you have such a rush when you're killing your victims. Taking something important away from them, just like they did to you" Klaus didn't answer after a while.

"My actions, what I do, not your problem. They belong to me. You're not allowed to feel my guilt and pain" he says turning on his heels about to leave.

"Wait!" I called stopping him. "Who was she? What was her name?"

"Caroline," he says glancing my way, trying to fight the tears. Opening the door I stopped him again.

"Just so you know, anybody capable of love is capable of being saved" he didn't face me, nodding his head he left. I went to the window and thought about the conversation I just shared with him and how broken he truly is.

Camila's pov

"Are you ok?" Lauren asked for the thousandth time while sitting down some water next to me.

I haven't said a word since I had found my family brutally murdered in their own home. Lauren tried to get me to leave, but I couldn't just leave. After about an hour of crying and fighting with Lauren, we had finally left. In the distance, I could hear the police and ambulance sirens. Once we got back I asked piper if she could perform the spell that brought mani back. She told me she couldn't because the spell can only work on the supernatural being and if performed on a human could risk damaging their mind and body til one day their body gives up.
