A lot of years back
"Mal!? Where are you?" A young Logan asked into the night, clutching onto his teddy bear, looking for his sister. "Mal?" He called out again as the moonlight helped him see better.
"I'm here, lo," Malia says coming out of the woods behind their house. "I'm here" Logan face instantly perked up at seeing his older sister. Running while still holding his teddy bear, he ran to his sister's arm. Malia chuckled picking up her year-old brother.
"Can I sleep with you? I'm scared" Logan requested.
Malia sighed heavy knowing the reason why. Earlier today Kris and Peter were once again arguing about his daughter blood-born mark. Malia, whose hearing was better than her younger brother, had been listening from their shared rooms. Though Malia didn't understand the significance that it carried, she knew her stepmom wanted her far away.
"Sure, kiddo" she smiled happily at her brother. "Maybe if you're lucky enough we'll play wolf" Logan smiled brightly at his sister.
"I can't wait till I turn into a wolf for real" Logan says as they walked back into the house. Although he was young Logan knew his family wasn't like most. "Cuz then we can hunt and play together," he says excitedly. Malia cracked a smile at him. Averting her eyes from Logan she saw Kris in the living room with her father. They made eye contact but Malia was the one to break it.
"Yea, that would be fun," Malia says walking them upstairs. Later that night, both Malia and Logan played wolf in their room, trashing their twin size bed, putting pillows in their mouth ripping it apart, and howling at the night sky as a wolf would.
"Hey, mal?" Logan called looking at his sister. Malia hummed in response. "Do you think you could teach me how to be a better wolf.. like you?"
"..I'll make you even better than me" she promised as she kisses his head tugging him in her bed as they went to sleep.
Camila's pov
"So, you're technically one of them?" I asked sitting across from Lauren, as she looked at Malia, who was across the room. "Which means you're just as strong as them"
"I'm not like them," she says getting up walking away angrily. "These people are-"
"Your family," Freya says walking in. Lauren leaned on the wall behind her eyes glowing as she shot daggers at her.
"Don't you have any hobbies besides listening to other people's conversation?" I asked her.
"I collect the ashes of my enemies" she smirked winking at me.
"You people are not my family. They died when Malia killed them in that fire. Taking everyone that I loved away from me" she says growing angry as she thought about it all.
"Not everyone," Freya says looking at me. "And that so-called pack is still breathing"
"Mhm, for now," Klaus says walking in with Jacob and Derek behind him.
"What do you mean?" I asked growing worried getting up to my feet. Klaus smiled at me instead of answering me.
"Good news, we're not too sure but we think we found him," Derek says to Freya. "He was spotted a few hundred miles north from the creek," he tells her.
"A few hundred miles? By a creek" I mumbled then it hit me. "Lo, that's where we live," I tell her. "They're talking about our family"
"He's as good as dead" Jacob announced. "And once he's dead, we can finally go back to good old New Orleans"
