Gerard turned quickly, looking at Frank with an annoyed expression.

"What Frank?" He growled, his hand still tight around Meiras bruised throat.

"Her thigh Gerard." He said quietly. Students started to gather around, watching the 'fight' that was taking place.

Gerard craned his neck, looking at her exposed thighs. She tried to force herself out of his grip again, wiggling enough to get one hand out if his grip.

She reached down, yanking the skirt down and forcing herself from under Gerard. He let her go, and stayed sitting there for a moment before grabbing his shattered phone and standing.

Meira ran down the school corridor quickly, her bag hitting her back with each stride. She reached the classroom in no time. The tears that were in her eyes threatened to spill, but she kept them in. She wouldn't let them fall until she was in the privacy of her own home.

Meira took her seat and wiped her eyes, quietly fidgeting in her seat. She then heard a chair scrape across the ground, and Gerard sat next to her. He opened his mouth to speak but she shook her head, standing. Mr. Stump looked at her.

"Is everything alright, Meira?" He asked. Meira looked at him.

"May I use the loo?" She mumbled. The class started laughing and Mr. Stump made a face. Meira took a deep breath. "Washroom." She said, her voice cracking. Mr. Stump nodded and she'd hurried out of the room.

She walked into the bathroom and stared at herself in the mirror. She touched the back of her head, which had been bleeding slightly. She knew this would be a long day.

Once she pulled herself back together, she walked back into class and took her seat, trying to ignore Gerard. He kept glancing at her, his eyes going to her thigh each time. He sighed. "Are they from me?" He finally asked. "Some look new..." He mumbled.

Meira looked at him, her Hazel eyes dull. She shook her head, taking notes. "Don't bloody talk to me." She mumbled. Gerard bit his lip.

  "You shouldn't hurt yourself, Mia-"

"It's Meira. Get it right." She said as the bell rang. She stood and grabbed her stuff, leaving the classroom. Ray saw her and ran up to her.

"Mei!" He grabbed her wrist. "I heard what happened..." He whispered. Meira shook her head.

"I'd rather not talk about it." She mumbled. Today she had art rather than gym, her classes switching each day. Ray sighed and walked with her. He sat next to her, making sure the other students would leave her alone.

Students kept looking at her and snickering. Everyone knew. Everyone knew that she had hurt herself. Her secret was out. Ray got up to go to the bathroom. While he was gone, Frank and Gerard came in. They sat across from her.

Meira felt herself beginning to tear up. She didn't want them there. "Please... Go away..." She whispered, her voice cracking. Gerard stood, pulling her out of the classroom.

"Meira. I'm sorry." He whispered. Meira took her head. She had broken. The tears poured down her cheeks, and even though she didn't make a sound, they just kept coming.

"You're not. You bloody made fun of my accent. You hurt me. And now this." She mumbled, constantly wiping her cheeks.

"Shh... It'll be okay... You're okay..." He took her face in his hands, wiping her tears. "Why did you do it?" He asked. Meira gently held onto his wrists, his hands still on her cheeks.

"I..." She looked at him. She didn't know what had happened, but a small sob had escaped her lips, and she hugged him. Gerard sighed and rubbed her back. As soon as Meira caught her breath, she pulled away, wiping her eyes again.

"It was a way of coping..." She whispered. "I have a dead sister... And a lot happened to me back it Britain... I continuously fucked up, and I made sure to take it out on myself each time." She whispered. Gerard nodded.

"I won't hurt you and neither will Frank. You're safe with us." He whispered, leading her back into the classroom. Meira took her seat and kept drawing, shaking. Ray walked in and rushed over, glaring at Frank and Gerard. Before he could say anything, Meira looked at him.

"Don't. They're fine. We worked everything out." She whispered. Frank looked down, and Gerard nodded.

"I promised I wouldn't hurt her. She's okay, Ray." He sighed. Ray looked at Meira.

"Just... Be careful. Okay?" He smiled. Meira hugged him and nodded, smiling slightly.

  "Thank you."
