At the end of the day, Gerard decided to bring Meira home. They sat in the car silently as he drove. Gerard took a deep breath. "Are those the only scars you have?" He finally asked. Meira slowly lifted up her shirt silently, showing a few more scars.

"I quit a while ago." She mumbled. Gerard looked at her. He pulled up to a restaurant and got out. Meira did the same. "What are we doing?" She looked at him. Gerard smiled.

"Getting food, obviously." He led her inside. Meira made a face.

"But... Don't you hate me?" She asked softly. Gerard shook his head.

"No. I thought you were an easy target. You were new, and I wanted to scare you into submission. But after what happened, I decided to try to be nice to you." He mumbled, sitting.

Meira sat across from him and crossed her legs. "You need to be nice to Ray." She mumbled, looking at the menu. Gerard smirked.

"He has a hot sister named McKenna." He sat back. Meira rolled her eyes as a waiter came over. He took their orders, then left. Meira sighed.

"It's only my second week in New Jersey." She mumbled, playing with her tie. "I hope I like it."

"You will." Gerard flashed a smile. It wasn't a fake smile. It was a smile that could make any girl melt. Meira just nodded, biting her lip. The waiter came with their food, and Meira thanked him.

"I mean, it's nice here. It doesn't rain as much. I hate storms." Meira sighed, picking at her food. Gerard chuckled.

"Britain must have been hell for you, boo." He flashed a cocky smile. Meira smiled, laughing softly.

"I love being called boo. I don't know why." She shrugged, taking a bite of her food. Gerard chuckled.

"Well, I'll just call you that from now on." He winked. This almost made Meira choke on her food.

"Can you just drop me off at Rays after this? Him and I are partners on a global project." She mumbled. Gerard nodded.

"Of course, boo." He smiled at her. Meira smiled. Soon, they finished eating. Gerard paid and they stood, walking out.

"I just have to stop at my house to change. Is that okay?" Meira got in the car. Gerard nodded, getting in.

Gerard drove to her house, and came in with her. "Meira?" Her dad asked, stepping into the room. He looked at Gerard. "Who is this?" He asked

"A pal from school, pa." She hummed. "He's taking me to Ray's. I just had to get clothes." She smiled before walking passed him. He grabbed her wrist.

"Are those hickeys?" He glared. Meira shook her head, gently pulling herself out of his grip.

"Bruises." She mumbled, running up to her room. She came back down in a loose t-shirt and shorts. Her father looked at her.

"My boss's son goes your school. Try to get along with him. I'd prefer if you even dated him. Understood? His name's Matthew Taylor." He glanced at her. Meira nodded before walking out with Gerard.

She got in the car as he did. "Your dad's an asshole." Gerard said, beginning to drive. Meira nodded.

"He can be." She sighed. Soon, he dropped her off. She gave him a hug before getting out of the car and walked to the door.

The next day at school, Meira started talking to Matt, making sure Ray was with her the whole time. Soon, they had discussed how their fathers wanted them together, and decided it would be best if they did.
