Dear Kamita,

I love Sashimi. I really do. He's so adorable and quiet.

Your gift came with a note-a story of where Sashimi came from.

----

Ateera was beaming as she looked at the pair of soulful brown eyes looking up at her. Ruyu, who was seated beside her, looked at her in amusement.

"God, I love you," she whispered, utmost adoration in her eyes.

"Told you she lost her mind already," Gene's voice came from behind the couch. "She's as crazy as the sender of that dog."

"Shhh," Ateera said. "You're scaring Sashimi."

There was a loud snort. "Sashimi? Why the hell did he name the Chowchow Sashimi?"

Ateera passed Sashimi to Ruyu before snatching the letter from the coffee table. Gene sat down on the carpet in front of Ruyu, his body between Ruyu's legs.

"Listen hard, Geniot," Ateera said coldly. "Dear Ateera, her name is Sashimi-chan. I met her that day when I was craving for Sashimi and I bought Tempura-chan for a walk."

Another loud snort, but Ateera ignored the sound as she continued to read the letter.

"It was Tempura-chan who saw him first. He just stopped in front of a pet shop and she wouldn't budge no matter how much I pulled on her leash. It was then that I noticed she was staring at the white Chowchow through the glass. I knew then that I had to buy him for her. He's going to be Tempura-chan's future mate. Please take care of him for her. Love, Kamita."

"What a romantic love story," Gene replied, sounding bored. This time, it was Ateera who hit him at the back of the head.

"It's romantic, asshole," she replied as she stroked Sashimi on the forehead. "He's so kawaii."

"Ka-what?" Gene asked.

"Kawaii means cute in Japanese," Ruyu answered as he too joined Ateera and stroked Sashimi's fur.

"Do you speak Japanese now?"

"No, baka," answered Ateera. "I just know some common terms."

"I'm not a cow!"

"She meant idiot," Ruyu once again answered.

"No she didn't," Gene said confidently. "Cows are not idiots."

Ruyu just shook his head while Ateera laughed. The two of them pretended not to notice Gene starting to warm up to Sashimi. His fingers were now stroking Sashimi behind the ears.

By the end of the day, Gene wouldn't let go of Sashimi.

"He's at Gene's room," Ateera said when Kamita asked where Sashimi was that night on their Skype conversation.

"Gene's room?"

"Yes, haven't I told you? They moved in with me," she replied. "Those two are always here anyway so I just told them to move in."

"It must be an advantage having them with you all the time."

"It's nothing new. Those two are always here anyway," she said. "Uhm... Kamita?"

"Hmm?"

"If Sashimi is Tempura-chan's mate, why did you separate them? I mean I do love your gift, but why separate them?"

Kamita just stared at her for a while before his perfect bow lips formed a smile.

"Red string of fate," he answered confidently. "They will be reunited by the invisible thread that connects them despite the distance. Soon, they will be together. Soon, they will find their way to each other again."

"Aren't you a bit dramatic?" she teased.

Kamita just smiled. "I'm an actor, Ateera, which means I act almost 24/7. So when I get a chance to not act, I take it."

She shook her head. "You take fate seriously, don't you?"

He nodded without hesitation. "I do. If there's one abstract thing I believe in this world, it's fate."

"Why?" she asked, really curious.

"Because fate brought you back to me."

----

Sometimes I can't understand how your brain works.

You had told me about the red string of fate again using Tempura-chan and Sashimi-chan as the perfect examples. That no matter how tangled the two destined people's red string will become, they will still find their way to each other because the string connects them.

I might have unconsciously linked my pinkies together.

And then you said those words---

Tell me. Tell me how in the world would I have stopped myself from feeling this fucking feeling for you if you'd never given me a reason to stop?

You've done a lot of things, which pushed me to my limits, Kamita. And yes--- I am blaming you for making me fall.

I can blame you all I want, damn it! This is my letter! This is how I am supposed to move on!

Damn it!

I'm so screwed. Even your memory is screwing me.

Damn you.

Love,

Ateera
