I slowly opened my eyes to see the grass wave back and forth along the valley. The sky was a darkened blue and I knew Day was about to break. I then sat up slowly wiped my eyes and yawned and stretched my body. After all the resting I no longer felt tired but the depression still ached in my soul. My family, my home, Disappeared by my fate.

But then I thought of Josh and looked around and then I could see his marble skin against the blackened rocks that made the mountain. He was sitting at a peak where a rock jagged off the edge of one of the mountains. I slowly got up from the grass and made my way across the valley and to the mountain and I started to climb the sharp rocks. The cuts quickly healing as soon as they appeared.

He stopped looking at the distance and saw me and quickly lifted me up when I was close to the edge and I we were standing at the jagged rock together. Eyes locked and I could see a faint glow in his eyes. "Perfect timing." He whispered and my mind all the sudden went numb with his soft melody, his voice. "The sun is about to rise. I really want to see it with you." He softly added.

We sat down and I could see the mountain...so clearly. The fog hang around the nearby mountains and everything in this world was tinted a dark blue. I felt so...alive.

I knew at that moment I would see what my mother so desire. I could feel the warm air from the distance.

The dark blue sky then started to turn light. Then suddenly the clouds started to glow a faint gold and I could see the mountains start to reflect off the coming sun. I could the hear the roar of a griffin. This time it was different...it was beautiful. I could hear the roar of others and slowly the sun spread its rays across the mountain. The mist slowly falling away, the mountains started to turn to gold, and the grass below glowed a bright emerald. Everything that ached me slowly fell away at that moment. It was the most perfect scene that withered away evil, that replaced it with light...

"Its beautiful." I whispered. "Now that I have you here that is." He whispered. the griffins started to take flight across the mountains. Their blackened feathers and fur turning gold to the sun's rays.

I woke up and I noticed I fell asleep on Josh's shoulder and I looked up into his crystal eyes. I slowly sat up and noticed he was staring at something in the distance. "What is it?" I asked and then yawned. He looked into my eyes. "I'm just looking at the beautiful mountain." He sighed. I looked into his eyes. "Your thinking?" I whispered. "Well if you wanna know, I'm thinking about what we are going to do, the future I guess."

"Me too, I've been having dreams, nightmares, of the demons."

I could see his face freeze, his eyes lit up in fear, of his past. "Listen, I will never let them hurt you the same way they hurt me. I will protect you with my life, Jamie." I was shocked. He really loved me that much?

suddenly a question I wanted to ask for so long spin around my mind, along with a thousand others.

"Josh, what exactly are you?"

"I knew you were going to say that, one day." He whispered. "Well I guess I'll tell you the definition, but I don't think all your questions would be answered if I told you in that way so...why won't I tell you a story?"

I nodded.

"A long time ago when the demons were traveling across the world, looking for something to take over, they came along this village. A village of pure-blood humans, probably the only ones. A demon came down from the sky's and thought it would be easy to take down this land, since it was only made up of humans and humans were easy to take down since they had no Magic within them."

"As they started to kill them off a small group of humans escaped and ran across the lands to find a magical beast, a Raditor. It said it would give them the power to defect the demons, but for only one flaw."

"They would have to feed off the blood of others, since they wouldn't be able to have their own. It was a tough decision but they agreed."

"The beast gave them their powers in order to defect the demons and they did. But when every demon had perished. They had this uncontrollable hunger for blood and they killed off every single human in every village. Then they went on a rampage. Going across the lands and finding more humans to feed off of."

"But as soon as all the humans were gone over the centuries they slowly started to adapt to animal blood, and that is who I am, a vampire."

suddenly I remembered what my mother had said once again. A creature with fine cold and white skin who could shift like a werewolf and run the speed of light, to then be cursed by a demon. But the beast gave the vampires their powers, And plus they could shift? Like werewolves?

"So if your a vampire, then what is all your powers?" I said softly.

"Well vampires used to be extremely powerful with the taste of human blood, but over time they started losing them. Stand up." I then stood up and he did the same. "Your arm." He whispered.

I then held out my arm.
