Chapter Forty Three
Ah'Taria, Gold District - The Palace Dungeons
Kaelen stared at the huddled figure on the cell floor. "You do know that if you can give any information that is helpful they may decide to spare your life."
Orchid sat on the floor unconcerned with the revenge her family or the Lawson family would take. "I don't fear them as much as I fear Sebastian."
"Sebastian," asked Kaelen confused. This was the first time that he'd heard this name. "Who is Sebastian?"
"Sebastian Dion Mace," she whispered as if by saying his name aloud he'd appear. Laughing she shook her head, "He makes Lucas and Jacob seem less homicidal."
Kaelen shook his head not believing for a minute that the man Orchid feared was stronger than Lucas or Jacob. Tugging his ear he sighed, "What's his power level?"
Orchid shook her head in remorse, "It's so high the readers couldn't pick it up."
"So he doesn't attempt to mask his power level like Lucas and Jacob?" He smiled slightly when he saw the question give her pause. "You shouldn't under estimate them; Sebastian Mace is a dead man and he just doesn't know it."
Orchid rolled her eyes, "I will tell the high council everything I know." When she saw his eyes widen in surprise she smirked, "in return I want to keep my last name and be protected from the Mace family and their cohorts."
Continuing to tug on his ear he sneered, "Your name was removed from the family registry and I doubt they'd add it back." Turning around he called, "but I can see what we can do about keeping you alive even though you don't deserve it."
Walking away he listened to her scream insults at his back. Whistling he increased his step knowing that Lucas and Jacob would want to question her before the high council meeting.

Private Transport En Route to Destinations Unknown
"Orchid Sinclair was able to be escape to Ah'Taria," said the man shrouded by a black cloak on the hand held screen. "She is currently being held in the palace prison waiting to be interrogated by the high council."
Sebastian Ward reclined in the black chair on his transport staring at the hooded figure. "I want her dead before they can interrogate her."
A cackling sound was heard coming from the screen, "And exactly how do you expect someone to do that? It's not like one of your family's followers can just walk into the palace and up to where she is being held in the dungeon."
Rolling his coal black eyes he stared at the screen, "She knows too much to live. She needs to be eliminated immediately."
"Then you should have made sure you killed her and not Olivia." The cloaked figure shook its head and continued glumly, "With her death her parent’s financial support was withdrawn from our research and they are reviewing their loyalties. We are lucky they have not turned us in the only thing stopping them is that they would be admitting to being traitors. You should have checked before killing anyone."
"I don't need anyone to tell me what to do," snapped Sebastian anger. "Soon I will take my rightful place -."
"Don't you mean soon the Mace's will take their rightful place," whispered the figure. "Or is your plan to not only eliminate the Lawson’s and Sinclair’s but the remaining Maces."
Leaning further back into the cushions of his plush chair he laughed, "Make sure Xara is moved from her current location. Orchid knows where she is and losing her would set us back, she is the only test subject that hasn't outright died."
