Chapter Twenty-Eight
Azul de Raus, The Whites Sands of MuAleah gazed out of the floor to ceiling window in her parlor watching the blue waters crash against the white sands. Sighing she waved Jaquelin, her steward, into the room. Frowning when she saw Jaquelin was carrying her blue hand held she arched a perfectly plucked eyebrow, "Has something interesting happened in the universe that needs my attention?"
Jaquelin walked slowly toward her with the device in her outstretched hands. "Yes, ma'am. I believe there is one thing you will want to review."
Gazing into the woman's yellow eyes she smiled inconvenienced as she took the device pressing the button that cleared the screen accidentally. Staring down she started to read off the news, "Dayum, a once impoverished planet and shunned by the universe, is now making a name for itself as the only planet that host tours of the out lands." Looking up from the device she chuckled humorlessly. "Yes, I can see why that is something I needed to know." Running her free hand over her white pants she continued playfully, "Do you wish to go on vacation and view the ruins of the outlands?"
Shaking her head at the beautiful woman with her onyx black hair, honey brown complexion and luminous pale blue eyes, she pointed toward the device. "My lady, there is more you should read the news fully."
Thinning her lips in agitation she stared back down at the device and continued reading, "First seat heir apparent has reemerged into society after a six month absence and with him is his beautiful wife Lady Makayla Sinclair previously of Nah'Bye." Rolling her eyes she looked back up at Raquel, "What exactly is it you want me to read." Throwing the device toward her she snapped, "Show me the article or be gone!"
Raquel stared absently at the device on the floor before picking it up, swiping her fingers on the screen she pulled up the article. Looking past Aleah as she handed her the device she whispered, "I am here to protect you not to be treated as a mere servant. If you continue with your childish antics I will be force to leave." Looking down at the woman she smiled menacingly, "You may be his favorite but his wife is no fan of yours and not many are willing to accept this job."
Aleah looked up sharply at the threat, "I am his favorite and do not fear that banshee he calls a wife. If you wish to leave please pack your bags and go." Waiting for the insolent woman to comment she shook her head, "I reviewed your credentials and this is the best position you'd be able to get under your circumstances." Looking down at the article she continued, "Do not ever try to threaten me because I can give as well as I receive."
Raquel shrugged her narrow shoulders as she turned away, she and her employer's paramour had a like/dislike relationship. They both had said the same words, made the same threats over and over again, and neither had ever followed through. After ten years they knew all of each other's secrets and both knew they needed each other.
"Oh my gods," sobbed Alean as she read the one article in particular. Looking up from the device she stared at the rigid back of the lady that had been with her for so long. "Raquel, please arrange for our transport immediately to Ah'Taria."
Nodding her head as she stared out the window not wanting to see her frenemy cry she stated in clipped tones, "I have already made arrangements; we are scheduled to leave in two days."
Standing unsteadily to her feet she walked stiffly out of the parlor to pack for their trip. As she was exciting the off white tiled room she mumbled, "Please do not inform him of my impending arrival." Smiling wickedly, as she wiped the tears that had flowing from her eyes, "I want to surprise him and that banshee of a wife."
Jaquelin nodded as she smiled darkly out the window. Oh she's definitely going to be surprised when you appear madam. I just wish I could be there and not have to hear about it later. Sighing she turned to stroll out of the room, also, she had work that needed to be done before they departed.
