Chapter Forty Nine

 Chapter Forty Nine

Ah'Taria - Lucas, Jacob and Kaelen's office

Humming softly to himself Jacob walked into the office an hour late.  Raising his hand he called for his handheld with a small smile hovering over his lips.

"You're early and in a good mood," remarked Kaelen as he stared wearily.  Staring down at the latest report from Malcolm he sighed, "It would appear that Julius Rockefeller died resisting detainment."

Jacob chuckled, "Did Malcolm say detainment or did my father?"

Reviewing the report again he looked up questioningly, "It's signed by Malcolm."

"And Malcolm said he resisted," mocked Jacob.  "Malcolm doesn't even tell people who he is before he kills them."  Shaking his head he looked over the medical report.  "Did you see that he turned the man's internal organs into mush?"

Shrugging Kaelen sighed, "They are bring back the female for questioning today."

Hearing the door open Jacob tapped the table, "Let me guess.  We're having an emergency council meeting?"

Plopping down Lucas raised his hand calling forth his handheld.  Opening the first notification he smiled turning the screen toward Kaelen and Jacob.  "Kayla sent me a message," smiling idiotically he pointed to the bottom, "and she says she loves me."

Kaelen rolled his eyes, "Please gush about your wife on your own time."

Smiling Jacob sat forward, "Ebony hasn't said she loves me but I think she does."

Lucas nodded, "I've known you your whole life and have to admit that with some of your quirks she has to have some type of feelings for you."

Interested in what Lucas had to say, Jacob crossed his arms, "What type of quirks are you referring to?"

"I'm not even sure where to start," began Lucas rubbing his jaw.  "With Ebony alone you've almost killed her once -."

"Twice," interrupted Jacob, "if you don't count the first time we had sex on Ollyum as attempted murder."

"Why the hell are you counting," yelled Kaelen waving his handheld.  "Who the fuck counts that shit?"  Standing up he turned to look at Anton, "Does he keep a list of the women he's almost killed?"

Turning Anton chuckled. "To my knowledge there was-," pressing a few buttons he stared, "Never mind.  Ebony's longest to last actually."  Twisting his lips he blinked, "She's lasted 10 months longer than anyone."

Kaelen stared blank-faced, "Wow.  Ten whole months longer.  Wait!"

Staring smugly Jacob nodded, "I usually don't fuck the same woman twice."

Rising Lucas stared at the next message, "Hearing about Jacob's sex life -."

Batting his eyes innocently Jacob stood, "Doesn't the emergency meeting start in fifteen minutes."

Ah'Taria - Council Meeting Room

"So we're here for an emergency meeting," Acadia looked around the table with a satisfied smile.  "According to a communication from Malcolm they have found the female that the resistance was able to experiment on successfully."  Waving her hand an image appeared on the screen.  "As you can see there is nothing extraordinary about the young lady on the outside." 

Projecting a different image she nodded, "But there is nothing ordinary about her blood."  Pointing toward the inactivate markers she paused, "From Isaiah what we know these markers are the beginning and ending of everything."
