Nick was staring at the blank pages in front of him. Even though break ups are always a great inspiration for songs, he simply couldn't put his feelings into words. He blanked. His manager looked up from his laptop and licked his lips, seeing Nick like that was not right. He was always a positive guy. But every bit of positivity he had in him was long gone. Over the past two weeks, he barely talked to anyone besides Joe about how he was feeling. "Maybe you should stop for today. I don't think you're gonna get anything done if you pressure yourself into it." Phil said and squeezed Nick's shoulder.

The singer ran his hand over his freshly shaved head and leaned back into the chair. "Shouldn't this be the time that I get the most songs done?"

Phil chuckled a little. "Maybe you'll eventually be able to put into words how you feel."

"Or maybe not." Nick sighed.

Phil pressed his lips together. He was never the best at comforting people and couldn't really think of anything to say to Nick. It's gonna be okay. You'll get over it...everything he could come up with was something he wouldn't wanna hear if he was in Nick's situation, so he simply kept his mouth shut.

"I think I should go home. It's been a long day." Nick said. He closed his laptop and began to put it in his back as he heard a knock on the door. Phil told whoever was there to come in and as Nick looked up to see who it was, his heart skipped a beat.

"Oh, hi." Demi mumbled and looked at Nick before taking a deep breath and looking over to her manager. "I didn't wanna bother you, Phil. I'm just here to hand in some paper work and lists of young artist that could be interesting for Safehouse."

Phil got up and walked to the door, hugging Demi before he took her folder. "Thanks. I'll get through them and let you know what I think." he smiled.

"Oh don't bother. I'm done with this label. I'll hand it over to you two. Do whatever you want with it. I'm resigning." she said and looked at Nick. "There are circumstances that make it impossible for me to work together with..." The brunette cleared her throat, not being able to say his name.

Nick swallowed down the lump in his throat. She really just resigned from the label. Phil's eyes got bigger and he looked from Demi to Nick and back. "A-Are you sure? I'm mean..."

"Don't." Demi said and shook her head. "I know what you're gonna say. You're gonna try to sit down with us and talk it through to find a solution, but I can't, Phil. I just can't and please don't make it harder for me than it already is." she said and offered him a sad smile. "I'm gonna go now."

Demi turned around and left the office, silently closing the door behind her. The silence in the office got uncomfortable and Nick stood up to follow his ex-wife. "Nick, don't. Don't walk after her and make things worse." Phil said in a stern voice.

"Worse? Phil, we build this business together over the last five years. Without her this whole company is just gonna be doomed. It's already the worst thing that could've happened." Nick said.

"But running after her and making her mad is not gonna help us." Phil snapped. "We need to give her some time and space before trying to win her back." Nick leaned against the table and rubbed his face. Cheating did a lot more damage than just ruining his marriage. Everything around him was slowly crumbling down. "Just...leave her alone for a while. You got divorced two weeks ago, I think the last person she wants to see and talk to is you." Phil said and raised his eyebrow. "And I'm sorry that you have to hear it, but it's true. You're the asshole in this situation. So whatever you wanna say to her, keep it in the back of your mind and give her time."
