Nick and Demi's love story was something out of a romantic movie. The went from best friends to lovers and eventually got married, but like every Hollywood movie, the happy ending is not always clear and has to be fought for.
Nick was glad he had a few days off so he could process everything that was currently happening and got some time to relax before the busy December shows started. He spend his days at home, treating himself to some TV shows and talked to Joe a lot about what happened in the office between him and Demi. Joe was not just his brother, he was also his best friend and Nick was glad he had him by his side. Besides that, Joe was also there for Demi and that was something Nick really appreciated. That way he knew she was surrounded by good people and Joe would take care of her as well.
"When are you going to go back in the studio?" Nick asked his older brother as Joe sat down next to him and pulled his legs up, getting comfortable on the couch.
"Next weeks. Jack wrote some songs and JinJoo has a few ideas she wants to talk about with us." he said and smiled. He missed being in the studio with his bandmates. It was gonna be good to finally get back to work after taking a little break.
"Speaking of the studio...do you plan on recording more songs soon?"
Nick pressed his lips together. He shrugged a little and looked at Joe. "I'm stuck. I can't think of something I wanna write about. I wrote so much about the break up and divorce, I need other things as well. Nobody wants a depressing break up album." he chuckled and took a deep breath.

The two brothers talked for a while and watched some TV until Nick's phone buzzed. The singer grabbed it and opened a text message from Phil.
"Demi was here. We talked a lot. Turns out André left her after he found out she's pregnant. Maybe that's your chance to be there for her now. Go get your girl, Nicholas ;)"
Nick almost dropped his phone. He jumped up from the couch and Joe looked at him with a frown on his face. "Is everything okay?" he asked and Nick swallowed hard.
"Uh, yeah...no. I mean..." Nick cleared his throat and told Joe about what Phil texted him. He had no idea if he wanted to be happy about it or if he felt bad for her. After all, she was happy with André and she's expecting his baby. A baby needed a father and Demi needed someone by her side throughout the pregnancy.
"Wait...you're not planning on going to see her now, are you?" Joe asked and stood up as well. "Nick, give her some time to breathe. She's probably hurting and the last person she needs to see right now is you." Joe said and raised his eyebrows, but Nick shook his head.
"You don't get it, Joe. I could be there for her. I wanna be a friend to her."
"You wanna win her back. But I don't think that's even possibly right now."
Nick sighed and pushed his phone into his pockets. "Whatever." he mumbled and walked over to the apartment door. He put on his shoes quickly and grabbed his car keys before he headed out of the door. The last thing he heard was Joe calling his name, but he didn't listen to him. He needed to see Demi. He needed to be there for her right now.
