Chapter 1 part 1

Jane POV

"Jane we have to keep moving" Samuel my best friend and the only person I trust since the out break. "We're safer with the group" I whisper to him hoping none of the people from the group can hear me in this abandon house with the people we took shelter with 2weeks ago. Once you join a survival group you just can't leave it, it's a against group law especially if your a female.

"Trust me Jane, this group is becoming to big and they stay in one place to long. It's only a matter of time before the Zombies or Night Crawlers finds us" Night Crawlers are what you would call ugly vampires. They only come out at night because the sun burns they're skin, they're fast and strong but easy to kill if you know where to shoot and if they're not in big number which they're usually are. And they don't suck your blood they eat your whole damn body.

"Ok, when do we leave?" I ask Sam

"Day break before anyone awake and the Night Crawlers shouldn't be out" he replied

"I nod my head in agreement and got up to get my things ready, which was only 1pair of jeans, 2shirts, 2hand guns, 1dragger and a few granola bars. In this world you must travel light so you can run as fast as you can, if you travel heavy that would slow you down.

"Jane....Jane wake up, we got to go...now" Sam said shaking me awake. "Ok...Ok I'm awake" I yarn while rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. "Come on, hurry up they would be waking up soon" Samuel whispers while pulling towards a window.

Walking down and abandon street there was no sign of any Zombies "This looks like a good place to stay for awhile. What do you think Sam?" I asked as we made our way towards an 2story house. "Yah but we're only staying here for a few days" he pointed out. I roll my eyes "Ok Sam. I'll check the basement, and you check the upper level" I tell him.

I'm not that good of a fighter but I'm good enough. I pull out both my hand guns. My back push up against the wall, as I start to make my way down the stairs to the dark basement.

Out of all the places I could have chose in this house I pick the dark and scarier basement. The stairs made that scarier creaking sound, like off of one of those horror movies and I'm the dumb blond going to see what made the noise.

I turned the flashlight that was attached to my gun on, pointing the lights to the dark corners of the basement. I soon hear the sickening goans and high pitched screams from the night crawlers that was sleeping. "Shit!!" I yelled. I started shooting night crawlers after night crawlers while walking backwards up the stairs.

Something grabbed the back of my shirt, making me scream out of surprise as I'm yank back through the door. I jump a little when the person slammed the door closed. "O my God, Sam tha..." I stop mid sentence when I finally look up and it wasn't Samuel. "Who are you" I growl at the boy... No man and pointed my gun at his head. The man had dark brown hair, blue eyes, he was about 5'10, he probably was 18 or 19 years old.

The man looked me right in the eyes "Your welcome"he said then walked away. Where the hell is Samuel. I begin to make my way up the stairs. Where I heard Samuel deep voice speak softly. I followed the sound of his voice that lead me to a bedroom door. "Samuel?"

"I'm in here Jane!" he called out to me. I open the bedroom door to see Sam sitting on a bed with a little boy cleaning his leg. "Was he bitten?" I asked horrified. "No, we was being chase by some zombies when he trapped and fell. Glass cut through his leg and now it's getting infected" the boy from earlier stated. "We have to get him some medicine" Samuel said standing up.

"We?" the blue eyed boy questioned as if he was about to disagree in becoming a team. "Yes we, or would you rather go out on your own because the nearest drug store is about days trip by foot and it would be faster and smarter if you had somebody to watch your back" I said hoping he agree for the kid sake. They blue eyes boy let out a sign "Alright" he said

"Ok good and my name is Jane, that's my best friend Samuel and you are?"

"I'm Colton and that's my brother Jack" Colton said

"Now let's get to business we only have 10hours until sun set, we should start walking now" Samuel said while looking at his watch. "Walking takes to long I can Hotwire a car" Colton said with a small smirk on her face..
