Chapter 19

Cassidy's POV
"Go on." I said crossing my arms waiting for her explanation.
"His real fathers name is Caleb. He called me yesterday." She said as she looked down at her bed.
"I thought phones didn't work." I stayed as I raised one eyebrow.
"Well it did he called and told me everything. That there is a secret here something with the people here. There's something he wants he didn't tell me, all he said is that all of us are being used for something. He told me that he knows we're here that he's coming tomorrow to get us. He told me to take Ashton and the little blonde girl." She took a pause to swallow.
"He said that he wanted the twins, that they're the only girl twins in town. He wants you too. The red haired girl he told me." She began too cry now.
"Why?" I raised one eyebrow as I asked.
"He said that you had something special about you. Your tiny and you fought off his men like nothing. He said you will do well for his army."
I stumbled back, realizing now what he was using the people of the town for now. I was scared.
He wants me especially. I had fight in me is what he apparently said. He can't do this.
My thoughts were then interrupted by the sound of Janice's  voice. I looked up from my gaze to see her crying face.
"I did the drugs because when Carl and I were young we did this stuff a lot. We also cheated in each other a lot. Then I got pregnant, with ash. We decided to put away the drugs and settle down. We kept these with us" she said holding up one of the needles "we kept the them to symbolize that  any body can quit. When this whole thing started we made a pact. That if it ever became to much too handle, we would take the drugs and take away the pain. I didn't want to feel it anymore!" She said as she dug her face into her pillow.
Ashton now walked in.
"Hey ash," his mom said as she brought her head out of the pillow.
"Mom what the hell!" Ashton yelled as he held up one of the needles.
"She needs to tell you something." I said, raising one eyebrow.
He sat on the bed as his mom told him word for word what she told me. After wards his face turned blank, he looked at me with hurt in his eyes.
"Leave me here. Take the twins." I begged,
"I'll be enough please, I don't want anyone else to die, or to be taken because of me." I pleaded as I looked Ashton in his hurt eyes.
"No." He ordered
"Nobody is staying here, we're gonna leave tonight. He's gonna tell us he needs you and the twins and the next day he'll need Haven?, we can't keep doing what he wishes. If we do that we'll all be gone in the end." He said as he grabbed my hands, now instead of hurt in his eyes, he had fight.
