Cassidy's POV
After Ashton stated that he sat back in his chair.
"Huh!" He said in disbelief.
"So your Ashton??" He said as he furrowed his eyebrows downward.
"What? Not quite the son you wanted!" Ashton said sarcastically.
"Huh! It is you. You have my humor." He said, taking another sip of his cup.
"I guess I do!" Ashton snapped back.
"Huh! Wow." Caleb said shocked.
A few seconds passed and one tear fell from Caleb's cheek.
"Sorry I'm not the crying type, I've never been more happy to meet you! It's just these circumstances. If I die or you die you or I will be targeted!" He claimed as he sat there. Staring at Ashton.
"What? Wh- What do you me- mean by tar- targeted!" I stuttered in between trying to grasp my words.
"You see this whole undead thing isn't just your ordinary walking dead undead type stuff." He explained.
"When a person dies, in this case they come back. Thirst for the blood of the ones they love. Instead of love for the ones they once loved they hate them. So they hunt them down. They don't stop. That's why I told my guards if they pass I have to release they're family from my care. I can't let them get in here. It's too risky. They'll kill anyone or anything in their way. And you can kill them. But only the way they died. If they died from a bullet wound then they have to be killed by a bullet wound." He said as a few more tears ran down is face.
"Caleb, Ashton is my boyfriend, and my mom died." I told him as I looked down into my lap. After I told him about my mom he shot up.
"When did she die?" He asked as he looked around cautiously.
"About 2 or 3 weeks ago." I stated.
"How?" He blurted out.
"My dad smashed her head in with a rock. I haven't seen anything since then. We threw my dad out and he is somewhere in the town." I finished my answer.
"Okay," he said as he sat back down.
"Please don't throw me out I can protect my-"
"Don't worry about it, you are my head guard." He chuckled as he took a sip of his wine.
"Can you tell me more about the whole undead thing?" I asked.
He nodded back.
"It's like they wake up a day after and they look normal, except for their wounds for example your mother will be walking around with a giant gash in her head. And that's all that I haven't told you. Except for when they see you, it's like when they're looking for you they're there old selves. They care for you, but when they see you it's like a darkness takes them over. They come for you. And anyone that try's to stop them gets killed. I watched an attack happen once." He said as tears began to stream down his face again.
"And now I need you. Your special. I know you haven't had any training. I can tell. But your strong. I believe you are my key to stopping this blood thirst war." It like a water fall was running down his face now.
I'm the key. I just need to find the door to unlock.
