Chapter 28: Prayers for the family

Doctor Andrews POV...

"Her name is Brenda Gibson. She's barely breathing and has a weak pulse." said the nurse.

"She's been shot twice in the hip and her stomach. She's losing blood. Let's get her to the operating room quick." said Doctor Andrews.

"His name is Charles Gibson. He's been beaten and has been shot in the leg. He's gonna need surgery on that leg right away!" said the nurse.

"Let's take him up to the operation room also. First I need x-rays. I need to find that bullet!" said Doctor Andrews.

"This one is the suspect. Her name is Morgan. She's been shot multiple times. She's losing a lot of blood." said the Nurse.

I don't know if she'll make it. Let's rush her to the operating room also." said Doctor Andrews. 

Sam's POV

I called Diane and she told me she was on her way here. Ten minutes later, Brenda's sister and her mom arrived. 

"Hey Sam! Where's Brenda?" asked Angela.

"She's in surgery." I said.

"Surgery? What happened?" asked Angela.

"I don't know. Charlie's in surgery too. Nobody won't tell me anything." I said.

"Ok. I'll find out. Is C.C. here too?" asked Angela.

"Yeah. She's ok. She wants to see her mom. The doctors are gonna keep her overnight." I said.

"Why?" asked Mrs. Styles. 

"Morgan beat her and she has bruises on her body." I said.

"Oh my god!" gasped Mrs. Styles.

"Hey, where's Brendan and C.J.?" I said.

"They're with Angela's husband, Darrell." said Mrs. Styles.

"I can't believe this happened to them." said Diane.

"I know, baby. I know." I said.

Angela's POV

"Ma'am?! I'm Angela Styles-Barnes. My sister Brenda Gibson was admitted here. Is there any news on her and her husband Charles Gibson?" I asked.

"Yes. They are both in surgery right now." said the secretary.

"What about my niece Charlene Gibson?" I asked.

"She's been taken to X-rays and will be staying overnight. Social Services will be here in a few minutes to talk to you and her grandmother." said the secretary.

"Thank you so much." I said.

I sighed and walked back to my mother and Sam. I told them everything and all I could do is pray that they'll make it through.

Five minutes later, the social worker arrived to the hospital and greeted us in the waiting room.

"Hello. I'm Anna Greeceland. I'm with Social Services. I was told that a child named Charlene Gibson was admitted here?"

"Yes." said Sam.

"Where are her parents?" asked Ms. Greeceland.

"They are in surgery." I said.

"May I ask what happened here tonight?" asked Ms. Greeceland.

"I'll tell you. You see, a woman named Morgan Thomas kidnapped Charlene. She pretended to be Charles sister and took her out of daycare. I was supposed to pick her up at 3 and she wasn't there. I called Charles and he came over to the daycare. He called Brenda and she arrived to the daycare also. We all asked the daycare worker to describe the woman. The three of us automatically knew who it was. It was Morgan." I said.

"Then what happened next?" asked Ms. Greeceland.

"Charles was furious and left. Brenda was crying and asked me to take Brendan and C.J. They are with my husband. I went home with the boys and this evenin I got a call from Sam saying that Brenda,Charles and C.C. were here. I had no idea what happened." I said.

"But I do! I'm Samantha Carter. Please call me Sam. I'm Charlene's godmother and Charles best friend of ten years. The same day we found out C.C. was missing, we found out Brenda was missing too. Her car was still at her place but she was nowhere to be found. There was blood on the floor and we called the police. The police said that she probably stepped out for a minute but we both knew something wasn't right. I stayed over at Charles house and the next morning the phone rang. It was Morgan. She was taunting him and he kept asking where Brenda and Charlene was. Morgan said that she had Charlene with her and didn't know where Brenda was. Morgan gave us an address that we were unfamiliar with. I called Wiz on the road and I drove us to the house that Morgan was at. When we got there, Charles was supposed to go in the house and get his daughter. I sat in the car waiting for them. Twenty minutes passed and no sign of them then I heard three gunshots and finally the police showed up. I have no idea what happened in that house. Wiz gave me Charlene and I took her to the hospital. They examined her and found bruises on her body. I believe Morgan had something to do with it." said Sam.

"Where is Morgan Thomas now?" asked Ms. Greeceland.

"She's in surgery right now. She was shot multiple times by the police." said Sam.

"Thank you for the information. I will release custody of Charlene Gibson to Angela Styles until her parents are better." said Ms. Greeceland.

Sam's POV

We were allowed to see C.C. in her room. She was asleep when we saw her. She looked so beautiful. If Charle found out what happened to his daughter, he's gonna be so pissed.  All I could do is wait and pray until morning for good news. 

*That's the end of this chapter.  Will Brenda and Charles make it through the night? Do you think Morgan will make it? Poor C.C. laid up in the hospital after been beating from birth mother.
